I never thought I was going to quit drinking. It seems like fun these days is associated with spending hundreds of dollars a month at bars and 7/11s. Anytime people want to hang out they ask if I want to grab a beer or come over and play beer pong. I grew tired of waking up the "day after" and failing to remember what I did, to see money in my wallet missing, and worst of all to nurse the terrible headaches and disgusting hangovers I had.

I'm 25 years old and I haven't had anything alcoholic since last October. Things are different in a good way but at the same time I feel like I'm left out of a lot of activities. I always think, maybe I should have a beer or maybe I should go out and drink something tonight to loosen up a bit. I'm trying to find out if there's anyone here who has been successfully sober and successful with TRP mentalities still. Drinking used to get me into a comfortable state where I felt invincible and made me feel like I was part of the group. Now that I've stopped it seems literally everything social has drinking involved.

Do I just need to get deeper and more involved in my hobbies? Should I take up maybe more hobbies and hang out with people with similar interests? I like not having to rely on alcohol to be social but at the same time I am feeling somewhat left out since there's a huge percentage of my friends and the population in general that go out and do that. I've become the designated driver of my life. What do the sober RP members do for fun and how do you stay on your game without the magical liquid?
