TL;DR - I am questioning the high value that TRP puts on lifting

Before I go any further, I should point out that I am certainly not against lifting and it is great to see dem gains and feel the slow and steady bulking-up process. That said, here are some thoughts regarding lifting and how TRP views it...

Intro

I saw a very good post on here where a guy pointed out certain blue-bill behaviors disguised as red-pill ones. Most of what was written, I agreed with. However, the last point was once again a display of how TRP focuses excessively on lifting as it is some form of religion for people on this subreddit. As I said above, lifting is good, however, is it really the best single self-improvement thing you can do to your body in terms of exercise?

Body

I get it, lift, get big, get more intimidating, etc, etc. However, I think TRP places too much focus on lifting to the point where it becomes a fanatic zeal. It is important to lift and be big with muscles but I don't think it should be overdone. After all, TRP is about self improvement, right? Well then, why only lift just so that you can look big and scary - it's just looks. Sure, you got raw strength but if lifting is all you do, this strength would be wasted since your body wouldn't have much functionality. It is hilarious when a big, bulky body-builder kind of guy decides to take up some sport, for example, a fighting sport like boxing or kickboxing, thinking that all that bulk he has gained from the gym would make him a beast in whatever he took up. And then he gets his as whooped by some less intimidating-looking or even timid-looking guy who doesn't even break a sweat while the bulky fellow can barely catch his breath.

End

Of course, big muscles created from lifting is what gets pussy wet but the most red-pilled of red-pillers always say it's not about pussy, its about us, being better, more complete men. Bulking-up, I believe, isn't the sole thing we need to pursue with our physical training and physical improvement. Sure, go lift, it's good for you, but if this is the only thing you do and the sole goal of your physical training is to lift heavier and heavier for the sake of the gains, then this might not be the best way to go. Now, of course, some of you might want exactly that, it might be what makes you feel good which is awesome. Some guys want strength, others want good cardio and so on. I'm just saying, there are other ways one can utilize and fulfill their physical potential. For me, lifting is only a secondary form of training through which I gain mass and strength when that is what I need. It's just nice to be able to do something else with your body as well. Thoughts?
