I look at this one kind of differently. To me this is less "Boo fucking hoo, Chad wouldn't commit to meeeee" and more "I can't handle life, life is so hard, life is so unfair, why won't people be nice to meeeee". While we profile the former a lot more, the latter is important to identify and talk about too.
THere's a lot more going on in this woman's life than just "unlucky in love, can't find a hot and sexy but nice man." This woman has been depressed and in therapy since age 14. She's NEVER been right in the head. Something's always been wrong with her. She's got social anxiety. She's always felt unlovable. That's what drove her to her "bad sexual experiences".
As for her 3 year relationship, she simply decided that she didn't want to put in the work for it anymore. Being with someone long term and making it work was less important than her feelings or education or career prospects. (She didn't prioritize finding a husband, either, which is a major part of her problem. I think one reason she didn't prioritize it was her mental illness.)
She craves relationships with men because she never developed a healthy view of herself, men, and herself in relationship to men. She fights the idea of having a man in her life because she "shoudln't" want or need one, yet very much does. At the same time she lacks a sufficient sense of her own self identity and who she is and what she wants such that she can give a man what he wants and needs. She can't handle herself or her life, mostly because she's never learned how.
Instead of turning inward to see what the answers are, she looks outward at men, wanting Chad to solve her problems and help her feel better. This kind of woman gets into a relationship with you, then blames you for all her problems. It's YOUR fault she's unhappy. YOU are the one who needs to change. YOU are the one who needs to get better. You are making her unhappy. It's all bullshit, and you need to stay away from women like this.
Read the 48 Laws of Power. Law 10: Infection: Avoid the Unhappy and the Unlucky. People who are perpetually miserable spread misery like an infection, and they'll drown you in it. Avoid these people like the plague. Conversely, if you associate with happy people, you'll share in the good fortune they attract and spread.
This is an unhappy, unlucky woman. Avoid them like the plague.

Yep. I slept away from my fiance for a month and a half. She just... did nothing. No cooking, no chores, barely helped with bills (after cajoling). Broke up with her cuz it was the loneliest relationship I ever had.

I didn't test mine per se but I didn't initiate because I wasn't interested myself. After like 1 month she said the same thing to me. She wants me to be dominant and start it, which is fine but not all the time. I want her to be dominant every now and then too.

Please do not take this personally but I think that is totally unrealistic. Women are the gatekeepers of sex. That said, I truly hope you find what you are looking for, if it exists. I find it sad that people are so defeatist in regards to marriage and don't consider it a lifelong commitment.
[–]42252252Sluts' Futile Heartthrob22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don't talk about your successful marriage until you reach your eighties, because you ain't out of the woods yet. We don't hope for it to fail, but I liken you types to the ones saying "Smoking is fine, I'm almost 30 and I've never even had a cough! All those statistics are just numbers, It's not like you're definitely gonna get lung cancer."
Your marriage is doing fine (for now.) Your wife is faithful (for now.) Many of your peers have been in the same position and assumed their life would keep tracking on that course only to be utterly blindsided.
You live in a world in which popular culture seeks to undermine every aspect of your relationship and family unit. Maybe most terrifying of all is the material incentive to bail on you when your utility wanes, so please keep that condescending "I found mine" attitude to yourself.
I don't even fully disagree with you, but acting like you aren't sleeping with a landmine is naive. All it takes is one smarmy feminist friend telling your wife some recontexualizing propaganda and suddenly she sees you as an abusive rapist.
They love getting coveted victim status and playing the embattled, heroic wife who survived years of ordeal anyway, even more when they think single life with all the fun goodies you've got, bankrolled by you, seems more enjoyable than being married to you.

Just won't do it. I automatically red card girls with mental disorders.

[–]Tap-Apart39 points40 points41 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
We definitely celebrate mental disorders now like it's a badge of courage. When it should be avoided.
For all these woke people I recommend they attend an Al-Anon meeting.
Listening to people's lives being destroyed because their family member has a drinking problem gives a sobering perspective.
You will probably never fix that person's mental illness, so you should decide right then and there if it's still worth it to stay in.
After dating a depressed chick who had a non-existent libido I can honestly say, I wish I would have bolted as soon as she said "depressed"
It's cold but you're not responsible for other people's lives.
There's people out there that no matter what you do, they will be miserable.

I actually discussed that topic today with a friend of mine who is a late career physician and has worked for the big pharmaceutical companies on a director level at Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, ...
The guy told me since about 30 years ago, the advancements in antidepressants made it possible for people who take these medications to still function on a high level in their daily live without experiencing many of the side effects. This made it possible to increase sales volume and the adoption of antidepressants for usage that goes beyond being depressed, such as but not limited to: mood regulation, anxiety, stress, etc.
Sales volume of antidepressants has made a tremendous growth over the last decades, which can be explained by what I discussed here above and the fact that it has been scientifically proven by academia, that people who score higher than average on neuroticism (-->women), experience greater levels of job dissatisfaction throughout their career. The levels of job dissatisfaction get even worse as their career continues, despite any changes they may make, as neuroticism has a genetic origin (both in men and women).

My ex through her gaslighting me got me on meds, my libido and joy was gone, I had suicidal thoughts. I wasn’t close to being who I was. If women are knocking these down with a subscription to boxed wine that’s a a dud laying next to you. Fuck that
[–]yousmallfish17 points18 points19 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Libido and delayed ejaculation are common side effects of many antidepressants for men. The neurophysiological phenomena of human orgasm is still a complex matter for researchers to figure out. Hope you are better, no woman is worth steering you to a position where you have to take meds to feel better.

(info about my personal sex life with antidepressants below.)
You are so right. It's funny, when I was on anti-depressents it made me a beast in bed due to the fact that I literally couldn't cum except from one specific position. So I could fuck as long as I wanted however I wanted as long as I avoided that one position. A few slutty girls told me it was the "best sexy of their life" but these girls were the type that just like to be railed out for a long time with no romance involved.
I also would lose my erection when I used a condom or got a blowjob If I had a condom or got a blowjob I 100% could not cum.
Now that I am not on antidepressants, my time til orgasm is shorter which could be good and bad. Although I am happy because I can enjoy sex more and I can cum from other positions, plus from blowjobs again.

still function on a high level in their daily live without experiencing many of the side effects.
Patient reviews online of these medicines show a very different story.
I also don't understand how we can have doctors issuing out these medicines based on paid studies, but not have the same doctors keep detailed public records on these medicines to show if they work or their side effects.

Interesting way to look at it.
Before meds, people had to find ways to deal with and handle moods, anxiety, and stress. Yes, a lot of people used alcohol, narcotics, and opiods. That said, people did better handling stress, moods, and anxiety. At the time, we didn't require men to be women with penises. We didn't force men to talk about their feelings or get in touch with their feminine sides. We didn't force women into thinking that they could be satisfied only if Chad threw some dick their way. We told both men and women to shut the fuck up, stop bitching, and do their jobs. There's no time to be depressed or anxious.
Work needs done. Bills need paid. Food needs made. Kids need to learn and help out. Chores need done. So shut the fuck up, suck it up buttercup, buck up, put on your big boy and big girl britches, get your shit together, and get it done.
Now? Everyone needs their hands held through a breakup. Everyone needs therapy whenever an election doesn't go their way. We have to elect people like Pedophile Joe and the California Ho just so half the goddamn country doesn't burn our cities down. We have to wreck our economy and change our entire way of life just so people can try to avoid getting a flu bug. Nobody can handle any shit anymore. We have become a nation of abject pussies who can't even handle a 9 to 5 and living on a budget.
Christ, people. Grow the fuck up. People work, lose jobs, break up, have shitty relationships, have shitty sex, get sick, lose money, and die, ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. Maybe Covid will not kill you, but eventually, something will. You WILL die eventually, just like everyone else on this planet. So until then, how about enjoying the ride as best you can for as long as you can?
Grow. The. Fuck. Up.

Therapists who actually help people find themselves losing their $$$$$$$, I mean suckers, I mean customers, I mean patients. No therapist who wants a high salary would ever think of helping any of their patients. They want them back every week to pay their tithe. They can purposefully fuck them up to ensure their weekly visits. There's just no reason for anyone in the $$$$ industry to try and help anyone. Their solutions become more complex all the time to further confuse the patient.

Her mind was already broken by anxiety and unfulfilled expectations and her classes has warped her further. And of course the free sessions would have been structured in such as way that she needed more after
I never found out if she went to more after for reasons that should be obvious ...

I never understood this whole concept of women who feel unloved. The world basically kisses your ass and tells you constantly how great you are and almost every girl has a guy who would do anything for them. Imagine having a ton of matches on a dating site. Most men can't. Imagine having people to be there for you when you fail. Most men can't. Imagine being able to have intimacy whenever you feel like it and so many admirers you could get into a loving relationship tomorrow if you wanted. Most men can't.
Women really take being women for granted.

Can you imagine someone telling this girl, any girl like this, that a relationship isn’t meant to entertain her like a fucking magic show or carnival game? A relationship isn’t something men are supposed to “put on” for her amusement. The only reason she thinks that “Chad’s” are more fun is because she repeatedly deludes herself into thinking they care about her, so when they consistently demonstrate that they don’t actually care, it shocks her delusions and she ‘feels’ that they’re “unpredictable” and “wild.” But the only reason that this delusion works, is because she had the absolute and unwarranted hubris to actually buy into societies lie that she is a valuable catch no matter what she does or what she fails to accomplish. The level of cognitive dissonance that it must take to buy into that shovelhead full of horse shit lies outside of my ability to emphathize with. She actually thinks she’s the victim here...
No bitch. No. You’re the dumbass who won’t stop trying to pet feral dogs. The first couple times you did it maybe your ignorance could’ve been forgiven, though a reasonable person would’ve asked “who the fuck raised you?!” But after that, you deserve to be bitten. This is who you are. This is ALL you are. You are the lesser end of Darwin’s survival of the fittest equation. And all because you can’t process the simple fucking fact that you’re not supposed to choose a significant other based on how often they kick you in your emotional jimmies. Serial killers scare me, you don’t see me writing them asking them to marry me.
Life isn’t a fucking Disneyland ride. Its not an HBO series designed to tickle you in all the places you “literally can’t.” it’s hard, and cold, and it’s a war to survive, let alone thrive. And these women who select based on how “interested” they feel (see stirs feelings of insecurity and unease that any woman with a survival sense would realize is a huuuge red flag), are a) so unbelievably privileged that their ancestors who actually had to struggle to survive would probably club them out of shame if they ever met them, b) as fucking basic, unoriginal, boring and predictable as wallpaper paste in a DMV (because all children are born with the idea that the world owes them a relief from boredom,) c) as self defeating as those fucking goats that play dead when they’re stunned (seriously, how the fuck would those animals have survived evolution without domestication,) and d) as unsympathetic as a meth head / any drug addict who makes every excuse in the book why they’re not responsible for the decisions that led them to where they are, and talk about how they’d like something better while all the whole you can see their one track mind thinking about where they’re going to get their next fix.
I swear to god, I’m so over this shit. I’m an accomplished man. I’m an attorney and i make good money and i date good looking women. I worked my ass off so i could be successful and have the “pick of the litter.” But i can’t remember the last time i dated a girl and wasn’t absolutely disgusted by her childish entitlement and lack of personal accountability. How is the entire western hemisphere’s female gender not crippled with shame over their lack of adulthood or even just common sense? I don’t understand it. I’m done. For years i wanted to get married, have kids, white picket fence.
Fuck em. They created this game. And the only way to win as a man is to change your objective. I’m not going for committed relationships. I’m going free agent. See you in the field fellas.

Even adult women are like this? I'm 21 and went on my first date a few weeks ago. The girl seemed very intelligent and hardworking. She watches over a bad kid who does online school and told me that she was worried that he wouldn't know how to treat women when he grows up. I told her that he should treat everyone with respect when he's older. She agreed but then said "well everyone should be treated with respect but you know, he has to learn how to treat women".
I then asked her if what girls are taught on how to treat men. She paused and stared at me blankly and then changed the subject. She seemed nice so I brushed this off. We texted for a while after the date and really hit it off. She then told me that she likes guys that are gentlemen and I told her that im not a simp. She said that being a gentleman doesn't make you a simp and I disagreed. During the next date she asked me this question and was like fixated on it. She said that she likes guys that do special stuff for her like opening cardoors, buying flowers, and making her feel safe and protected. I told her that I just didn't like the concept of being held to an inundated societal standard while women are held to no societal standard like that. I asked her what special stuff she would do for me and she went blank. I told her what if I asked her to modify her behavior to act like a super classy woman and that i didn't want her to talk back to me. That as a woman she is supposed to be submissive and satisfy me. She refused to connect the comparisons.
I got the feeling that she didn't see me as a person but more of a composite image of what a man should be from her friends and movies. She thought that my existence is to basically add value to her life and help her. I believe that almost every single woman is like this. Women don't see men as individual people. I guarantee that if I dated this girl she would go batshit if I ever displayed any sort of weakness or vulnerability. She would expect me to always be her emotional sponge and support her tho. She would be disgusted if my actions ever went against the contrived myopic image that she created of me (whaf a man is) in her head. It was pretty depressing because she pretty much flipped on me after she realized I had self respect and would hold women to basic standards that I'd expect men to meet.
People always talk about toxic masculinity but women are ultimately responsible for reinforcing these notions of masculinity while they're held to literally no standard. Sorry for the rant.

I then asked her if what girls are taught on how to treat men. She paused and stared at me blankly and then changed the subject.
This is certainly eye opening for me. Not her reaction but the concept of what you discussed with her. I never thought about the fact that women are not taught how to treat men despite it being hammered into men how to treat women, but it is absolutely true. This was not necessarily a problem when our system had genuine patriarchy in place (not The PatriarchyTM which feminists use as a boogeyman), but now that we are moving towards "equality," this issue has never been addressed. Men are still expected to act as if they old rules are in place despite the new rules being in direct contradiction to the old standards.
Being a "gentleman" to women will just leave most young men frustrated. It seems that most women do not reward that kind of behavior despite claiming to want it. That is, not until the woman is nearing the end of her fertility window and/or has children from another man. In other words, it is only rewarded when the woman has less of herself to give to the man. Is it any wonder there are less "gentlemen" in this day and age? You get more of what you reward, and less of what you punish.
[–]Rougemak3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
When you stop buying into the idea of “societal norms” (see: fantasies of a human species that has only existed in the legends created by people idealizing shit that never happened,) and you start believing that people act in their own best interests and paying attention to what feeds people’s egos and base/animal desires, you start seeing the strings on Pinocchio.

You're right but don't be too hard on yourself. The reality is even if you managed to achieve that impossible "gentleman" attitude, the moment a fuckboy had hit her, she'd be DTF and forget everything you did for her.
[–]Rougemak7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
There is hope here though.
She may say she wants those things, but the problem with listening to that is that in almost all cases what women say they want is not fed or informed by what they actually want or what they’ve experienced as making them happy. They’re rather telling you what they think they should say they want to be most respected/to not be judged by you.
For some reason it’s hard for guys to process this into how they operate. But like... when she’s telling you what she wants, you shouldn’t even take what she’s saying seriously. It has nothing to do with what she’ll actually react to. It’d be like a male feminist saying how he really doesn’t care about how a woman looks but he just wants someone with a strong sense of social identity. Like... sure. He’s saying that because he thinks having those values helps his chances of getting laid. But if some Ridiculously sexy girl comes walking up to him and starts flirting with him, his “values” aren’t going to be anywhere near a place in his mind where they could affect his decision making. It’s same same. The hope here is learning to speak to what women want, not what they say they want. Workout, gain success, work on yourself, your confidence, and most importantly work on your belief system about the world i until you no longer need someone else to love you to be happy. That’s the key to everything. That’s like the cheerleader hitting puberty and all of sudden having a reason to wear low cut shirts and high skirts. Watch they start chasing while all the while claiming how much they don’t care if you like them or not because “X Y Z.”
Now there is a difference between what someone wants out of a relationship and what they’re willing to put into it. I think you can learn to speak to the part of a woman’s soul that is animal instincts. I don’t consciously make the decision to be attracted to an hourglass figure, i can’t help myself but be attracted to her. But i make the conscious decision to make myself a better person and someone that would be an asset to anyone who dates me. I don’t think many women make the same decision beyond working to be attractive, and even then i thjnk that’s more for them than for any potential boyfriend. They’re in a sellers market, and they probably won’t ever be told that they’re not offering enough value until they hit the wall around 30-35. From the moment they grow tits the only thing they’ve ever had to impress a guy was show a little skin. And for most guys they date, having sex will make the guy happy (especially at a young age) So they’ve never even contemplated the need to work on themselves for the purpose of increasing their value. The vast majority of guys on the other hand face the grimmest of reminders from a young age that if they want to be desired/loved they need to offer far more than just the opportunity to see their dick.
So there’s a difference in perspectives here. And one that makes most men pretty resentful of the experience women have. It also makes it hard for us to process the fact that she’s not trying to impress us. But we need to process it. Because there are 100% girls out there that are trying to impress. Not a lot of them but they’re out there, i dated a couple of them. So they are capable of understanding it, the trick is that now we need to be able to spot it when they’re not understanding on it or acting in a way that is generally acceptable. And if we can get more men to call women on that shit and more importantly be willing to break up with them for doing so, then we actually have a chance of fighting against these terrible social tendencies that are being borne out of the insane levels of self acceptance/self-value perpetuated for women in western culture. This isn’t equality. It’s matriarchy.

Yes - my cousin is a year older and she relationship hopped. Was never out of a relationship long. Might have monkey branched but I never knew enough about then guys
Never settled though.
She even landed a guy when she became a sing mom (albeit one with kids who appears to be taking advantage of her an the fact that she has superior resources)
But she has the options and always have. Even when she aged and had her body ruined by pregnancy

It's because women are so inundated with affection and love from every angle since they were born it becomes a norm to them. They become immune to it, and need MORE to feel as if they are being actively loved.
Love is sold as a feeling to women. Feelings are always fleeting, the human brain literally evolved to adapt to situations so we wouldn't die from stress in the savanna while constantly looking out for predators. There's a reason the 7 year itch or 8 months of butterflies is a thing, your brain literally gets used to either the stimulus that provides dopamine or to the level of dopamine it is receiving. It's an endless loop that constantly requires more.
This is why women have psychotic breaks when they hit their 30s because suddenly they're being ignored for younger prettier girls and people stop treating the ground they walk on as Holy. It's a complete shock to their system to not be constantly fawned over.

Simple: they feel unloved because the vast majority of women don't love themselves.
The average woman, under a veneer of girl-power and "women are queens!" rhetoric, despises herself more than men in worse situations. The homeless guy who roots through my trash for uneaten McDonalds is more cheerful than my high-earning, high-career driven cousin who got Wall'd harder than Berlin did. Predisposition towards neuroticism is an anchor around the neck of every woman on the planet.
All the ass-kissing, pandering, and gentility a gynocentric society grants women is what is necessary to keep their egos from crumbling under the weight of their disappointed expectations. Working like men doesn't make them happy, dating like men doesn't make them happy. Buying new toys, purses, or shoes doesn't make them happy.
The cocktail of medicines and alcohol they need to keep their darkest thoughts at bay doesn't make them happy. Because they're fundamentally unhappy people who have been conditioned to look to others to make them happy. This woman has been in therapy for 12 years because she doesn't do her homework. She refuses to accept that there's something wrong with her and refuses to do the hard, unglamorous, soul work it takes to become a better person.
That's why I don't really give a fuck about "The Force is Female" or any other nerd-culture thing people get bent out of shape about. Let them talk about how they're "strong empowered kweens" who are running the world because they pay their bills on time. Let them have their princesses! Let them have James Bond and cartoon shows and whatever else they need to feel good about themselves.
Because they do need it; god knows what would happen to them if we just stopped telling them that every girl is a special princess because she has a pulse.
That might make them unhappy.

So the essence of this long post is that this girl admits she's messed up, has been in therapy for 12 years (!?) over feelings that she's addicted to dating and that she does not feel interested in anyone that she meets or matches with on dating apps. She had a 3 year long stable, healthy relationship with a guy that ended because "we both decided that we didn't want to get engaged". (There's a backstory to that one that we don't know about.)
And yet, the guys she's dated are all somehow at fault.
You have to be kidding me.

This is exactly why Ive left women and dating behind. Its so hard to actively be exciting, to game, to play tantalizing mindgames, to have 0% body fat, to be a comedian. And for what? A thorough banging? All that work for maybe an hour of fun. I mean love certainly wont be involved in any of this. 20 somethings have time for this but I dont anymore.

It's because the therapists were not in a position, nor felt comfortable to tell her how she was disconnected from reality towards the dating market. The herd prefers to be kissed with lies rather than be slapped in the face with truths.
Aside from that most women attend therapy not really to solve issues, but rather have someone to listen to them and give an outside perspective.

She fully accepts responsibility for choosing the guys she did in the past. That's great. But she doesn't accept responsibility for the guys she's choosing *right now*.
She ended things with a stable guy after 3 years because he was boring. I'm not a therapist but I'll analyzer her anyway :-). Here goes: she likes dating men that she knows it can never work out with, because then, when the relationship inevitably fails, she can blame the guy and never herself. If she sleeps with a married man, when he inevitably doesn't leave his wife for her, she can blame him for being an asshole, and no one in the world would blame her for it ending (although they'll blame her for starting it). And if she says she's unhappy, she and the rest of the world will automatically blame the unhealthy relationship and the douchebag married guy for her unhappiness. No one would ever blame her or force her to examine herself.
But with the last guy, somehow, despite her best efforts, she ended up with a guy who wouldn't do anything wrong. He didn't abuse her. He wasn't unavailable. Even she had to admit it was pretty healthy. And it killed her because that meant that whatever unhappiness she was feeling in the relationship, she couldn't blame him for it, and had to examine her own behaviors, emotions, etc. to see why she was unhappy. Given that she's been in therapy for decades with little to show for it, you can guess how willing she is to look within herself for the source of her unhappiness.
It's kinda like this: if you're in an abusive relationship and tell people you're unhappy, depressed, and need antidepressants, everyone says "makes sense. It's the bad relationship causing your problems". But if you're in a great relationship and you're still unhappy, depressed, and need antidepressants, everyone whispers "what's wrong with her? she has a great guy, a good life, what does she have to be depressed about?"
There are some people who are so enamored by their unhappiness that they'd prefer to find external things (like bad relationships) that give them a "valid" reason to remain unhappy. And that's why she still avoids any guy with which there's a chance she might have a good relationship that she can't blame for her ongoing, decades-long unhappiness and depression.
EDIT: (I'm liking this psychoanalysis stuff, so I'll go further :-)
If you read the part where she talks about her therapy, it sounds like accomplishments. First, calling people "therapy buffs", like it's a sport or hobby to be proud of, and how she's "been working on" this stuff for 12 years. It's her, patting herself on the back for all the hard work she's doing trying to overcome her unhappiness, not realizing that her core problem is, *she likes being unhappy*. If she truly hated being depressed, then you'd sense her frustration when she says I've been working on this for 12 years without success. Not listing her different treatments, and everything like they're some sort of trophy accomplishments. Also, newsflash: *everyone* at age 14 thinks they're unloved and longs for a deep connection with some soul mate out there. It's what defines the adolescent experience, and what every teeny bopper hit song is about. The difference between this person and the rest of us, is that we eventually grow out of it. She prefers to wallow in it, for some perceived benefit that she gains that she's unwilling to give up.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol. I did not even understand why suddenly I'm getting interested in girls when I was 14, and I certainly did not think there was a "soulmate" out there for me, I still don't. I am rather interested in seeing that sweet sweet money multiply itself, and finding happiness in my work, because that'll be the only common denominator in my life, all other things will change. And even though there were hormones, and I was kind of confused, I was never destructive or depressed because I always kept myself busy, and constantly reminded myself that there are things which are bigger than just me, and I have to work to make my place in the world. People like this "girl" right here, don't keep themselves busy, and are narcissistic as hell. They believe that they are the victims, even though it's them who is constantly abusing people emotionally. And they enjoy it. Either way, it's better to stay away.

I caught a work colleague who had been “allowed out” for a Christmas party a few years ago. Married with two kids in a single income household that he was completely supporting
He had a moment of real resentment come through after a few drinks
I was shocked because he had exactly what I thought I had always wanted from life. It definitely is a good anchor point to “check” my thinking at times.

She seems to have reasonable hindsight. But admits even though she has the power to pick and choose, she has taken the mindset of set up to fail even though she holds all the cards. She also doesn't go into her behaviour outside of a relationship.
"I need to be happy single" - This is bs started by women who wanted to justify leaving a relationship so that they could sleep around.
People are driven by different needs to be happy:
Some need money to be happy,
Some need a family and children to be happy,
Some need to help others to be happy,
Some need companionship from a close group of friends to be happy,
Some need to build or fix something to be happy.
A lot of people especially women believe that you have to be a completely independent and happy before looking for a partner. The problem with this advice is once a person becomes independent they don't need a partner.
There are people who are independent and people who are dependent. In the past a people would pair up, and make up for the shortcomings and weaknesses of their partners. Grow with their partners, look after their partners through hard times, each encouraging each other to become better versions of themselves not copies of each other. However in today's world many just want to slot themselves next to an established success and to trade up when someone better comes along or their partner is struggling.
Women started inventing the negative attachment to being a dependent in a relationship because they wanted to put a positive spin on leaving a relationship. Either as an independent women who wants to find herself by sleeping around or as a career woman who wants to climb the corporate ladder and this really hurts many family dynamics.
I hate to break it to many people but the partner who stays home to raise the family's children becomes dependent on their partner whether they are a housewife or a househusband. And if both parents are too independent to raise their own children then someone else will in their place.
In my opinion the really clever women are the ones who understand what motivates men and are the ones who pair up early, have children, then focus on self study/employment while building up their partner. Providing for their family is a great motivator for men to climb the career ladder. Men without a motivator will be happy just existing and will tend to get paid lower then their more motivated co-workers. By pairing up early women can avoid a lifetime of study debt, their bodies recover better from childbirth at an earlier age which can lead to them staying fit and active instead of ballooning. They also avoid the mid 30's crisis of stopping their career to have children and dropping out of the workforce.
Sorry I went off on a tangent a bit with this post.

I just listened to Gonzalo Lira a few days ago about dating unhappy women. The gist of it is that you don't pursue them since he experienced it first-hand. Even if you give her gifts or travel abroad with all expenses paid by you, she'll just get bored with your efforts.
Depressed women like this one are hopeless cases who won't change. They will earn pity points from some poor sucker because they know they can. She only wants a relationship to feel something yet is too stoned from taking those prescription medicines. She's just as bad to me as dating a cocaine addict.

Several random thoughts of mine here:
This woman is like many women who want the relationship equivalent of fried ice. She certainly can get a relationship, and even had one. But surprise, surprise. That relationship was "boring." She likes the emotional highs way too much from the "exciting" guys who are not caring to commit to her to appreciate a real relationship.
Every time I see the term "self-love" or "self-care," warning lights go off. Those terms are never used by someone who has her life together, as women like that go in circles trying to "discover" how to make themselves happy. The answer to this question is generally an uncomfortable truth, which is why the solution is rarely reached by women like her.
She is clearly not in a good mental state if she is unable to figure out how to be fulfilled by herself. I cannot say how good therapy actually is in general, but I get the suspicion that the problems that women like this have never actually get addressed in therapy, whether it be to the woman herself being unwilling to face the difficult truth, the therapist being unwilling to go into that territory, or a combination of the two factors. Either way, therapy is not a silver bullet to these types of problems.
Another major warning light goes off when I see that she is in grad school in her 30s. Grad school is not automatically a good or bad thing, but if I were to bet money, what she is pursuing in grad school is probably for something worthless. This may distract her for the moment, but like other things in her life, it will not lead her to happiness. Not only will it drive her further into debt (creating more unhappiness), but it will also keep her from being closer to fixing herself (if that is to ever happen).
Overall, she has a load of issues which I do not believe she will ever solve. Any man who would be in a relationship with her would find himself having to deal with these issues, making for a poor relationship.

Really this post follows a common theme with these "complaining about dating"-style posts.
It's all about her complaining about a problem she has created, when the answer should be obvious even to her...
You couldn't help her with your own comment any more than the post she has written out herself.

I don't see the "Chads won't date me, they should want me" scenario here. She's just lonely and (probably) feels pathetic having a dead love life. I'm a guy and my best friend has been there.
It's recoverable, but time consuming and tidious. She needs to sort her shit together and start looking outside dating apps for a healthy relationship and not a fling.
Probably ask her friends or family to introduce her to new people and see if things work out. Anyway, this is just a mess and in this case scenario, the person genuinely love and affection from her friends, family and her partner.
