One of the good Morpheus souls found a post of mine over in /r/DeadBedrooms and opened my eyes to MRP several days ago. I have to admit, I was hesitant at first... I've always been vaguely turned off by the RP/PUA stuff. But I started reading through MRP, and holy shit, it's me/us!

The other night, I bought MMSLP, NMMNG and WISNIFG. Only about halfway through MMSLP now, and it has really opened my eyes. It's really not my wife's fault that she isn't attracted to me anymore - it's mine. That's shit I have to own, because no one else will. I'm into self-improvement anyway, and MRP sounds like exactly the way to do it.

I was already into fitness, but in the last three days, I've adopted a much more defined lifting plan and schedule, taken measurements for a baseline, read up on /r/fitness and purchased some supplemental whey protein powder and fish oil. I started a personal inventory of Alpha and Beta traits to enhance and balance. I've immediately cut out some Beta behaviors

My thanks for this. Having just started, I already feel more confident that I'm going to be fine, whatever happens. I'm relieved to find out that I'm not alone in my marriage where I've begun to feel like a walking credit card that doesn't get laid.

My first questions for you guys are probably n00b, but please bear with me.

  • Porn and fapping. Porn isn't a problem for me, but if my wife isn't going to help me out, what's the MRP consensus on porn use?
  • Non-stereotypically dude hobbies. I play an instrument and do some creative writing, and I'm perfectly comfortable with them, but I can understand how they come across as Beta and don't instill the tinglies in my wife. I've read a lot of advice here that adopting more masculine hobbies is a good way to re-brand yourself. Anyone else manage to square this one?

Much obliged, gents.
