tl;dr - Been lifting/working out/eating well for a while, but have a sedentary office/desk job, am now 41, and have single dad duties that prevent me from hitting gym as much as i want. Are there dieting/supplement tips that can help melt more away from my waistline?

I'm 41, 6'-2", divorced about 7 years ago, 50-50 custody of a 12 year old son. I'm also an engineer and project manager - I lead a multidisciplinary design team that does large water/wastewater projects. It's a desk job, mostly sedentary. I'm currently hanging around 220 lbs.

While I've been through cycles of being in better, than worse, then better shape, about a year and a half ago, I rejoined a gym, go regularly, have cut out processed sugars/carbs, eat well, etc. I have dropped a decent amount of weight, and I can see muscle tone again in my arms, some in my abs and chest, etc. and I'm steadily making progress, getting stronger and slowly lifting more and more.

I've still got a bit of gut, though. The only way I've ever really gotten to go down dramatically in the past few years was after a bad breakup, the stress diet hit which kills my appetite and I couldn't eat without getting sick. This didn't completely go away for about 3 months. I went from a size 40 waist to a size 36. Obviously, that didn't last. Currently just a shade on the tight side of 38.

I'm wondering if there are any dieting tips or supplements anyone can recommend that will help slim a waist line quickly. Since that last breakup, I made a few changes in my own headspace, things are better than ever, but I really want to get my waist slimmed down more, and I haven't seen any progress in a while.

Thanks in advance!
