This group needs this kind of thought provoking and challenging question. There are a few here who advise you to get a mission and to be a quality man on your own, but you can also get that from the better parts of MGTOW. It's stuff like this that makes me want to go back to monkmode a bit to focus on a worthy mission and then put myself out there every now and then to see who wants to go along.

I was watching Chinese and Japanese history stuff on youtube and it gave me goosebumps. All these generals fought for such a grand purpose. The fact that the future was uncertain, makes their goals even more amazing. Sure they were betrayed, assassinated, etc. at the end but their goal often achieved and was so grand. I was in awe. Compare this to nowadays, gosh, it is like there is no purpose.

Amazing stuff right? I wonder if my glory quest thing is something that has kept me purple pilled. Many SJWs see themselves in this light; fighting for a cause. Their dedication is there, but many do it absent a desire to exalt self-earned human potential, without grit and often short on nobility. The SJWs are zealous, but they lack self-accountability and honor. Then the MAGAs are loud, boorish and blunted, but just as zealous. And then here in TRP land you have all the dude bros who are essentially hedonists and social nihilists. They're happy to let standards drop so long as they can pillage the thot spoils.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day. He was bemoaning the fact we didn’t have the challenges in our daily life to prove our metal as men. And the thought struck me that the challenge is to define our OWN purpose. It’s easier to hunt a lion when that’s the only option you have. There’s a quote from wheel of time where the protagonist asks about the fate of humanity, and the seers tell him that ‘your fate is to choose’. That is our fate. Nihilism is easy. Meaninglessness is easy. Living without purpose is easy. Do you think every man in that time period was a general with a grand vision who sacrificed everything to achieve it? Of course not. You have to CHOOSE to be that kind of man. Thats the fundamental masculine principle, that’s what FRAME is referring to. You dictate your own reality with your reason, and you then exert that reality on everyone around through whatever means you have at your disposal. To me, this is truly what it means to be a man. You unapologetically step forward with your vision for yourself, your family, your community, your nation. No one will give it to you. You can choose to hitch your wagon to the vision of a greater man you support, but you still have to choose. Otherwise, you’re no better than a slave.

From a cosmic sense, life has no purpose.

Take a flower as an example: The flower doesn’t have a purpose of looking great and colourful to please other beings. The flower doesn’t have a purpose to provide pollen. The flower doesn’t have a purpose to smell good for humans to admire and keep in their homes.

All that the flower is doing is, being the best expression of itself.

All that a dog is doing is, being the best expression of a dog.

All that a lion is doing is, being the best expression of a lion.

All that humans can do is, be the best expression of a human being.

That is what is life. We are given this thing called life for a short time. All we can do is live life to the fullest, as the best expression of a human being. That is all we can do.

Questions such as “What is my purpose here?” Are meaningless. You’re not sent here by the cosmos to fulfil any purpose or agenda. You’re just lucky that you got this life form, now live it the best way you can.

You’re human . What makes you different from all the creatures on this planet? We all know what a good flower is. What a good dog is. What a good lion is. With humans, there is no limit to what it’s best expression can do. This is why humans are special.

Realise this, and live your life your way, rather than fretting about your purpose.

Nihilism is a burden of today. the industrial world makes us robots, capitalism addicts for pleasure. "normal" people resign. Just find your way here, be it to make a change, getting pussy, money, whatever...

What helped my was just to educate myself in what seemed interesting to me, philosphy, history, technology, politics, etc. just by reading wikipedia and watching documentaries lol. learn about the world, a broader horizon makes it easier to find your purpose or lets say to get an idea what to do with your life.

And let me say, you can be proud or at least do not need to worry, you are asking the right questions, and the journey may potentially be long and hard, but you have a real chance here. the robots and addicts mentioned earlier dont have this chance, they will just wake up one day and realize what they did and its quite possibly for late for them. these people are just lost.

You ask if life has a purpose or what it is? I just read this book called "Three Philosophies Of Life" by Peter Kreeft. I only read the first two but the first is about Ecclesiastes and King Solomon. He was rich wise powerful blah had women blah and he still concluded "All is Vanity". That is, he had everything, but he knew it meant nothing in comparison to only a few important things like the fam and your homeboys and good hard work.

The Second philosophy was the Book Of Job. Job also had everything, lots of camels and such. And God took it ALL away as a "test". And Job, being a cool smart guy, did not question God for why he did that dick move because he knew God or Life or The Universe or The Tao or whatever IS NOT MEANT FOR US TO UNDERSTAND AND QUESTION. He realized that it was GOD THAT WAS QUESTIONING HIM. So when you ask Life "what is the meaning", you must look at some reflective object, a spoon or microwave window, and realize that THROUGH YOU, Life is demanding FROM YOU the meaning. What meaning are you bringing to life?

I felt the same way after I swallowed the red pill. After that I realized that my greatest purpose is to forge a life that I would actually love to live. I have a lot of doubts and I’m not sure if the people of had these dark days. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I just gave up but I know deep inside I would hate myself if I didn’t keep at it. Maybe that’s what drove them mercilessly towards their goals.

Overall most people are sheep. It’s just that there are more people now than it was eons ago. Therefore there will be more that much more directionless sheep in the world. Most people just want a decent life. I don’t vibe well with these people and as a consequence I am always alone. There is that also because 90% of the people can’t handle being alone whereas I have always been alone.

In short if a person has had conditions that don’t require you to push you more than likely can’t have grand wishes. But if you were placed in a position that requires you to overcome things then you will take the reigns as I try to do because you are a person conditioned to always overcome things. Think about it, what strife do Americans and most first world citizens really have? What is there to motivate you? There was plenty back then.

I'm having trouble reading all this but I can say there are still lofty goals to be attained.

No we are not really 'fighting' each other anymore, war is at an all time low. The other deadly things still exist however.

We have famine / drought in parts of the world. We have diseases that we cannot cure. We have the quest for 'wetware' and the ongoing quest for Virtual Reality in a total way. Augmented reality is a good look at the future there.

'Poverty' is a lie since fiat currency is a lie. There is no real money, only materials and time. We pay with time in labor, time learning, time is kind of everything so one of the big quests is expanding our time as functional bodies.

So many people get caught up in the little dramas of life and ignore the bigger things, but there are still huge milestones for the human race as a whole to arrive at.

You can reach for any of these goals. Many of them require billions of those fake ass dollars if you really want to have an effect in your lifetime, or you can set up your future generations to fulfill a long term quest.

So no, there are no little ones left that I can see, you can break down eat lofty goal into little steps and milestones but maybe you are just looking at life the wrong way.

Plenty left to do.

There aren't any less people today than there were back then, you are focusing on the most famous people in history but ignoring the millions of farmers that died and left nothing behind.

I would argue there are far, far more people with purpose today than at any point in history because of all the opportunities given by capitalism. Even the millenial sjw's everyone is trashing on have start ups to fund their trips to travel the world.

We have it easy now sure, and that makes most complacent, but you don't have to be complacent you can still strive for something

You're not the only one. I see this type of question asked all over the place. I used to ask this (and still do). Our lives have become easy. We've become lazy. Men are weaker as a result, the reaction is women are tougher to fill in the gaps. Women don't like it, and neither do men. But that's what happens when you live your life on auto-pilot, we all do this to some extent. I think once you build strong habits that become automatic, you start seeing other opportunities or challenges, things start to happen. If you're not in the gym building your hard Greek body your should be, build that habit to the point where missing a gym day makes your angry. Then start reading, rebuild an old engine (like a 90s Civic or Integra), get an old motorcycle and try to fix it. Travel. Learn a language. Once you start doing these things other things start to seem possible. It starts with the mind. Cut out the booze and the drugs and start exercising, healthy body, healthy mind. It's limitless from there. The only snag is you can never stop, don't become lazy because that's the trap. Keep moving forward, every singe day.

Money, big houses, yachts are all things, and they make you happy, but this does not equal self validation. Find what makes you tick and get up in the morning, whether that be chairty, a project, a work assignment, International Space Station flyover etc.

In the case of your generals, it was things as great as a project, that such as their dominions or what they were really doing- LEGACY BUILDING. The latter was what Obama was mainly trying to do within the last months of his last term, see for example the warming of American-Cuban relations.

You don't need to do something as great as making an Empire or doing the first diplomatic engagement with the leader of a hermit country. But you can still try leave a positive mark on planet.

Tai Lopez (disregarding any veiws of him) believes you should give atleast +10% of your earnings (if your doing well) to charity or to invest it in something meaningful.

Either way I bet you get what I mean. Voluntary work and many of the things which can lead to self validation are things you can put in your resume and helps make you employable and stand out- whether that be in the workforce or relationship stage.

It also helps make you more interesting.

In a lot of ways, it's harder to find a purpose, in some ways it's easier. In past times, survival was harder. You hunted, farmed, etc. to feed yourself and your family and hoped you didn't get sick or hurt because recovery wasn't certain. Then you served whatever overlord was around because if you didn't, he killed you and made your family his slaves. So focusing on survival was about all they could manage.

Contrast that to today - we sort of have the freedom to try to aspire to more than survival much easier. Our world also has to deal with a lot more bullshit from a lot more people (compared to when the overlord used to keep everyone in line). However, finding and pursuing that purpose and higher aspiration is just as hard as it as ever been, just different obstacles to overcome, because there's so much more bullshit out there to filter through.

I honestly suggest unplugging from social media. Tune out distractions. Live life, go out and do things. Exactly what, who care? Travel, volunteer, etc. Eventually something will resonate with you. From there, build on it for yourself.

Make sure your mission is bigger than just chasing women. Women should be a byproduct, those that like what they see in how you live and what you are pursuing will pursue you because they'll want to pursue the same mission with you. Those that don't like your mission, they'll not be interested, let them go. It works out as a natural filter to get rid of the women that aren't going to bring anything of value to your life (and their pussy has no value in your life - pussy is too abundantly available to be valuable).

If you cannot make sense of living life (I guess you're from the US, so no one can blame you for it), then search for a purpose. It does not matter what it is, as long as you see a benefit in that purpose, that equals the worth of your life. But be sure, it's all for nothing in the end. And your "purpose", mission-in-life, blah blah blah will change with your maturity.

Those guys and most of the guys today who are "actors in history" have been groomed since birth for that exact purpose, act in history.

What do you have that you can give to this world better than most people? Is it photography? Can you build amazing products or..design them? If you're passionate about travelling or lifting, how can you educate the masses about the benefits of it?

I would say the people working at Facebook, Whatsapp and other leading tech companies ARE changing the world. The people trying to bring social change ARE changing the world. People doing advancements in any field ARE changing the world. Go take a look at Forbes list of 30 under 30. Look at them. Look at their accomplishments. They ARE changing the world.

You can also start your business if you want to work for no one else :)

statistically speaking, the odds of any of us to accomplish something that remains throughout history is very small. Sure, some dudes accomplished "great" things, but compared to the many many many more who did not accomplish "great" things, the chance is very small. That does not mean to not strive for excellence, it's just the way it is.
I don't think it's constructive to look at it like that, instead compare yourself to what you were in the past. Are you doing something better than what you used to do in the past? If yes, keep at it. At least, that's how I look at things.
