What’s wrong with that? Your career is an achievement just like a muscular body - you needed ambition, discipline, grit, etc. to achieve it, so if you have it, it’s a big plus. Most don’t. So I can see why a girl would be attracted. Don’t over analyze and don’t draw artificial lines between “the real you” and your career. Just enjoy the benefits/the advantages it gives you, you’ve probably earned them.

She wants to be apart of your world. She sees you as a competent man. When this happens, shift conversation back to them and be vague about it. People love talking about themselves. You could always give her filler about it like “oh, We do a lot of fun things like write about X. I’d say more but, what’s Y” and change conversation. Set boundaries. Most females want to be pampered and diminish their stress level and outsource the trouble to the penis owning human. You have just shown to be quite able to theoretically fill that role.

The reason why you are losing interest is evolutionary. Men who weren't selective about who they breed with had their genes mixed with low quality genes and their kids were humans of less quality then they were.

This can also be seen on how countries turned out. USA where men were very selective and Brazil or Mexico where most migration were just (nonselective) men. The only women they found locally were women whose group never found a way to do things well and individuals of such character that they care more about the status and resources of a man (wow he is a well off white conqueror) vs a more loyalist view (ugh I hate those foreign enemies). This bred for bad, non idealistic, dominance oriented offspring and is why SA is so gangsta.

But in general avoid 'low hanging fruit' women. You know, the barristas, shop sellers, airplane waitresses, etc. Women whose prospects for saving up for a new unused car and a new flat is next to 0 because they are either lazy or dumb and they will see you as a ticket to jump ahead.

Some career minded women firmly believe that they can leave marriage/babies to the last minute. If she is one of those, then it's not so much your income that she is after imo, it's bragging rights. If your career sounds more impressive than the careers of her friends partners, that's a big win for her.

I completed a Psychology Undergraduate, Masters by Research in Social Science Research Methods, and applied for Clinical Psych. PhD this year... Most common question... "Can you read my mind?" ... Most common statement "Oooh, so you're going to be a doctor" - it's common, it's repetitive, and a drain, but allows you to practice the ideal response for smooth transition between talking and taking her or one of her friends home. It would be annoying if I allowed it to be, but ideally I try to move past it as it's really not a big deal. Just smile, laugh, and escalate anything they say to humerous obserdity.

Idk man, is the career YOU or is it just some shit you do to pay the bills.

If you are passionate about your career and you find it to be a core part of your life (as it should be) then no.

If you’re a bored Tax Accountant or just have a job that has no growth potential and that you’re unenthused about, then yeah, she’s interested in the benefits of the career, not the actual career itself; which is where the actual problem is...

For me it’s a plus if a girl is interested in the future trajectory of my career, but not if she is interested in the immediate benefits it provides.

I want to share my realistic dreams and ambitions (career/life-path/yadayada) with someone who I’m LTRing. And see it as a huge benefit if she wants to come along for the ride - and contribute!

Then again, most of the girls I’ve LTR’d so far have come from relatively wealthy upper-middle class families

For reference, I’m a mechatronics engineer who has worked in nanoscience/biomed but am still relatively young (career wise) at 25.

As an example of a concrete benefit I currently glean - I’m not the most accomplished writer, so whenever reports are required, I find it effective to have my current LTR restructure and streamline my thoughts/writings.

If you have any doubts, just split checks and talk more about the interesting parts of your job while downplaying the annual pay.
