I've been getting a lot of complements from girls lately. I often get complements on my clothes, hair, or simply 'Wow, you look great.' I have also lost a lot of weight recently, and when I run into someone I havnt seen in awhile they almost always make some comment about it. This happened to me last week at a party I was having, this girl I knew when I was in high school (older sister's friend) came to my party, and proclamed quite loudly 'Wow PooFlinga, you've lost a lot of weight. You look great!' This got the attention of many people at the party, and suddenly the focus of half the party was on me.

My problem is I have yet to find a proper way to deal with these complements. I have heard that you don't want to simply say thanks, because it is the expected response, and it puts you in a position of 'receiving' and quickly closes the thread and leaves her feeling 'satisfied' (not the kind of satisfied you want).

When they complement my hat I usually just respond with 'You'll never guess how much I paid for it' (Only cost me 2$ at kohls for a nice hat). But When it comes to me loosing weight I have yet to think of a good response. You guys have any suggestions on how to properly handle complements?
