If she's mentioned your "platonic relationship" multiple times that's probably a method to try to keep you from progressing towards something more

That said… don’t be afraid to shoot your shot if being ‘just friends’ is too overwhelming for you to handle forever.
Just ask yourself now if it’s worth losing her friendship over
If I were you though… I would just keep her as a friend and tell her to wingman for you hard
Women are great wingmen
If she’s already attracted to you secretly, this might force her hand
If she’s not… she may start to get jealous after wingmanning you and decide she’s into you after all.
Here’s the thing about the friend zone tho buddy… you can’t be in the friend zone unless you agree to be
If you decide to tell her “hey so I wasn’t initially romantically attracted to you, but overtime I’ve gotten to know you, and kinda feel a desire to see where it could go between us”
Then she gives you the bad news that she only sees you as a friend… all you gotta say is:
“Hey look you’re super awesome and all, but I’m WAY too attracted to you to just be your friend. I’m going to need some space from this friendship for a bit if you don’t feel the same”
This effectively puts you out of the friend zone because you choose not to be
I have said something like this to several girls and it works about 50% of the time where they concede and agree to get to know me more than just friends
And the other 50%??
I move on. They move on. It’s all good

I def like the wingwoman part of this comment. A lot of women enjoy matchmaking. Every guy friend I’ve ever had, I’ve wingmanned for and hooked them all up at least once 🤣 now.. I don’t have the best success with longevity, but I have no issue helping guy friends get laid or start a fwb/fling situation.

if she says it’s platonic multiple times, no. take the hint. you gotta respect her boundaries man, i’m sorry. if you never mentioned platonic and only said best friends? i’d say maybe, not 100% though. but platonic told me, you are indeed just a friend.

You'll always be the one who pushed it. I'd say friendzone her out of your life. Or whatever you actually like doing as a shared interest. But don't become a orbiter hoping you'll nice her into wanting you. It's sad.

could you tell if she was serious or was it in a joking manner?

makes sense.

You: but we could be platonic friends with benefits.. 😏
[–]focus_flow69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Lol you literally just told this girl you don't want her and you expect to not get immediately friendzoned?
[–]yatap21 -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Obviously this is your first time around the rodeo
[–]charlieravoli 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Be careful with texting too much, try to make things happen in real life, don’t just be her “text buddy” who she gets all the flirty text energy out with, but looks at a just a friend. Seems like you might be young from this story, but get the actual in person chemistry going first. I wouldn’t suggest you ‘ask her out’ until you are more sure of the romantic nature of you 2. Your already seeing her, see if you can get her to hang out 1 on 1 in something casual, then go from there.
[–]Jasonhardon 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Use her to party with as a wing. Girls like guys with other girls. You can go out a lot with her and have her wing you in 2 sets
[–]danf87 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
This. Especially if she's attractive she can help pull in hotter broads. Just go to club/bar or the mall and get her to break the ice for you or to destroy that bitch shield.
[–]PsychologicalDeer502 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah just accept it and treat her like a guy friend. Ironically, once she realizes you don't give a fuck she might find you attractive.
[–]jackzander 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just steal her frame and start calling everything "platonic".
Platonic food, platonic drinks, platonic hot tub, platonic blowjob.
[–]ZachMoore88 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Most likely she's using you for attention. You could try your luck and go for it.....but only once. Then move on
[–]Mundane_Natural5131 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yea you should just fucking go for another girl thats what you should do the firendozone just means that you werent making your intentions clear from the beginning no seduction at all your best bet to get out the friendzone is to get with someone better looking than her but it wouldnt matter then
[–]DonnyBomeneddy 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Always be escalating.

I might be an odd duck. When I have good chemistry with someone and joke about sexual things with them, I tell them I am happy with things as things are, but that I am open to whatever else can happen, if they have anything else in mind. Ask what she wants from you and see if she wants something more/other than conventional friendship. The best relationships begin with or later develop a component of friendship. Good luck but expect a friendly rejection of anything other than what you have now.
[–]yatap21 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It’s just that I been on a streak lately and I want to get rejected
[–]ftdrain 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Send a dick pic that should settle things
[–]ImmolationIsFlattery 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You want to or don't want to? I think I get what you mean either way. I hope you get the result you and she both need to have.
[–]mugatucrazypills -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Why ruin a friendship hitting on her ? Find someone interested enthusiastic about you in that way. World is big.
[–]ImmolationIsFlattery 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I do not do it in a way that feels like hitting on them. It is less hitting on them and more tapping on them. I am polyamorous, so I tell people I embrace and pursue the relationships I have and can have. Friendship takes many forms and leads to or intersects with other relationship types thought to be properly distinct from mere friendship. Reality is not as simply practiced as it could be in theory.
[–]mugatucrazypills 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I'm not arguing your philosophy (you do you). But this framing seems like poor "seduction"... "I'm indiscriminate and take whatever I can get near me" .... sounds low value. Anyway, Report back on what works.
[–]ImmolationIsFlattery 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I see what you mean, but I frame it as "I value the different options for relating available to me: a friend here, a lover there, a work acquaintance here, a drinking buddy there..." You cannot expect everyone to want you sexually, nor no one at all; be open but respect the other's boundaries and preferences. That is all I am saying.
[–]yatap21 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Guys guys, focus, we’re talking about me and what I want here.
[–]ImmolationIsFlattery 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Expect rejection. But maybe ask her about the signals she might be sending. Tell her you would want her to tell you about someone else giving you signals of interest when she notices and you do not. Tell her you want to make sure that if she is giving you those signals you do not want to miss them. You value your friendship but believe you and she have it in yourselves to possibly be more than just friends. Ensure she knows you are satisfied with remaining friends if that is all you can be. It is objectively better to keep a friend if you cannot turn a friend into a lover. But that might just be me.
[–]mugatucrazypills 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This all seems like a cringy low-value waste of time. I'd leave this one alone. If she sees you hooking up with other she'll might come crawling back to you on rebound.
Just don't orbit. Ask her if she has any friends who are DTF though. Can she do camera work ?
[–]Titty_Slicer_5000 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes. Go for it. But in a chill way. Escalate like you normally would, in person. Pay attention to her reaction. Maybe say something along the lines of “I always thought you were pretty cute”. Do NOT profess your love for her or do some over the top gesture or say that you’ve always been in love for her or generally anything intense like that. If you want to just ask her out and aren’t that great at escalating you can ask her by saying something along the lines of “You know we get along really well and I think you’re really cute we should go on a date sometime”. Again, nothing intense or crazy. Try not to say it in a dramatic way, and not in an aloof way either. Find a nice middle ground. Your mindset should be you think she’s cute and you like her so you want to get to know her more romantically. That’s it. If she doesn’t want to that’s cool.
In the future avoid sending kissy emojis and all the stuff with girls who you like but are just friends with.
Yea she’s mentioned your “platonic friendship”, but I’ve had friends like that who I ended up hooking up with anyway. The best way to shoot your shot is in a chill, almost matter of fact way.
Definitely shoot your shot or you will just always wonder what could have been. Life’s too short for that shit.

How's your chemistry in real life? Does she give you the eyes?
[–]yatap21 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yea mad chemistry
[–]roaphaen -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Sounds like she's using you for validation. How much would she go out of her way for you if your car broke down for example? If you listen to all her bullshit and show up for her and it's not reciprocated you don't have a friend, you are an orbiter being used for validation.
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
[–]roaphaen 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Then the answer is no. You don't need to fly off the handle, your Hollywood lordship. Maybe if you were a little more chill she'd be fucking you. Relax champ.
[–]yatap21 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You right
[–]Calamity__Bane 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don’t ask her out until you’ve actually made something happen. Analyzing texts at a distance won’t be nearly as effective as just testing the waters in person.
[–]mugatucrazypills 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Texting is gayh.* It's avoidance.

[–]Radicalmattitude1 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes fucking go for it bro, worst case she gives you closure and you can move on to other girls and not wonder “what if” for the rest of your life
[–]SeaBreezy209 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
i'd say go for it, being "just friends" is overrated if you got an attraction towards her. if she says no, then oh well, move on. if friendship can still happen after that, then great; but if doesn't, that sucks. At least you know where you stand either way.
[–]danf87 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fuck it go for it.
