Ask him to spot you. That opens the door for him to make a move if he's interested. If he doesn't hop on that opportunity, then he's not worth your time unless you're desperate in which case, be direct and tell him you're into him.

If you can catch his eye and smile that should do the trick. Option 2 should option 1 fail,,,,, is ask him to spot you or help you with something like a clamp, or pin or your shoelace... Option 3, should option 1 and 2 fail, would be to approach and ask him if he'd like to meet up at your local lunch spot for coffee or snacks. If all else fails, he's clearly an idiot and not worth your time.

Good luck. I hope it leads to enjoyment for you. I would only add, men don't pick up subtle, non verbal cues very well. Also, timing. He will be flattered, but if he is an intense gym person, get him as he is finishing up. He will be much more receptive. I enjoy a good workout and if you approached me I would be totally distracted, happily, but from point of contact forward, I would mostly be thinking of you. 😍🍆
