Easymode in Germany: Be an outgoing foreigner.
[–]CluckyMcNugget 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup!
I miss Europe and Germany in particular. I fell in love with my only "10". Those were the days...

Rheinland represent! Really posh girls breathing "do not look at me" in Düsseldorf everywhere
[–]ShogoGarcia 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Social acceptance aside, is bragging about yourself desirable anywhere? What do you think of other men who brag about themselves?
[–][deleted] 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
[–]ShogoGarcia 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, that's what I mean. Nobody likes a bragger, I don't respect the act of bragging. So I simply say, don't brag--in Germany or wherever. It's not what a man does. It's not about getting vagina--that's secondary. It's about respecting yourself as a man.

Okay, so I'm from California and have been in Germany for about a year this time (I've been here before). My impressions:
I am not in one of the big cities, but in a university city of about 150,000 in Southern Germany. The club/ bar scene is lively and I come home with tons of stories and my fair share of action. I've become more social here, more engaging, I dance more, and I don't try to speak German (even though I speak quite well). Instead, when I go out it's "me time" and so I stay in my comfort zone. I like to tease, make fun of Germany, and it seems to be working okay for me.

I live in Munich, it so fucking hard
[–]dannY_O 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I Lived in Munich for two years and I must say that I found it easy to talk to new people, especially during the Biergarten months when you sit close to strangers.
Right now I moved to cologne without knowing anybody. Let's see how that turns out :)
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah okoberfest and biergarten zeit then its easy but I mean like in clubs bars
[–]Tenmagnet7 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link
There are so many pretty girls in Munich though! It's way better than most places in the USA!
I found they were pretty friendly, but I probably have the advantage of being a foreigner, and automatically kind of interesting. Still, I found my students did really well as well.
The ice is thick in Munich, but once you break through, you're in a better spot than where you would be in the USA, just by breaking the ice.

Being a foreigner does make a significant difference in any country, especially in terms of social interactions.
People are a lot more forgiving of any social faux pas you commit, and sometimes view it as cute or entertaining rather than rude or tactless.
People love to ask you about where you are from. Furthermore, they love to give advice on what to do, where to go, and what to eat in their home country. In this way basic conversations are much easier to get started and maintain.
You have an air of exoticism, mystery, and boldness about you simply for being a foreigner who has branched out and left your comfort zone to explore their country.
People love the fact that you willingly chose to go to their country/region/city. It flatters them.

Thats true about a lot of Germany.
[–]Indianbro 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I went to your city this summer in august...I could not get into one night club for the life of me...it was complete BS. First the bouncers gave the "reservation" excuse and then "maximum capacity" BS and one didnt even want to accept 100 euros lol...what an idiot
[–]the_cucumber 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Seems like you only tried to get into the famous clubs? There are some really great ones that are way more fun than the so called world class ones, don't let that ruin your image of the whole club scene.
[–]Indianbro 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
i mean it wasn't even the famous ones...just the local ones that had good ratings i couldnt even get in to.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah we are pretty closed society. People here don´t like strangers thats why its hard to talk to a person from munich.

Are there any videos like this on scandinavian countries?
[–]asad16 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
can't say much for all girls there but i pulled a swedish chick and almost a norweigan chick one night (logistics were really poor) by doing kino and teasing. Out of all the countries I've travelled to Europe, they seemed the most receptive. Keep in mind, I'm a brown dude so I may have that exotic appeal.
[–]flashbangace 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're promoting your stuff too heavy if you ask me...
PROBLEM MATE??
[–]popeyepaul 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Great stuff. A big problem with a lot of pick-up material is that it's all about the USA, and you just know that stuff like that wouldn't work in Europe. I'm from Scandinavia and bragging does not go well over there at all. I'm also glad to see that other countries aren't that big on touching either, I find that really strange if I have to do that, even with friends.
Can also attest to the fact that breaking the ice is difficult, but once you make it, you're good. Whereas a lot of the Americans I've met are easy to chat with, but you can tell that that interaction just isn't going anywhere beyond small talk.
Can't make it to Berlin tomorrow but I do travel a lot so I'd love to know if you got anything else planned up for Europe.

Oh man offtopic, but the part about bragging reminded me of one of my favourite sketches ever.

Is there a version for the UK?
[–]Tenmagnet7 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link
I haven't taught in the UK for a few years now. I'll see if I can get one of our UK based instructors to answer some questions.
My impression is that picking up in the UK is pretty much the same as in the US, except everything is just a bit worse :)
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
"Worse"?
[–]Aradiel2 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link
As someone in the UK I would greatly appreciate it if you could go into more detail as to how it's "worse"
[–]Tenmagnet 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Well, at Love Systems the American instructors bust the balls of the UK instructors a lot, about British girls being pasty and overweight.
E.g. Miss Scotland
Honestly though, there are a lot of gorgeous girls in the UK. My only real experience is with London though, and there are not many places in London that compare with NY, LA or Miami bars.
The advantage though is that English guys can clean up with their accent if they head overseas.
[–]bassduck 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
about British girls being pasty and overweight.
What?! I've been to UK five or six times yet, visiting 20-25 different cities, small and big ones over a time period of four years.
Man, UK has some really cute girls! So nice and open-minded, easy and fun and relaxing to talk to. Wish I'd live there. Not only for the people, but in general.
I get depressed dating in my own country (Germany that is).
Edit: Oh, I agree on the pasty part. But I like it pasty haha

You should check out Richard Gambler. His game will probably suit you best. He's the only credible mpua (apart from AFC Adam) I know of operating from the UK.

Relevant german song about a french girl trying to pick up germans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNPut-juVd4
Especially careful the touching (or not-touching) part I think is very important to keep in mind for you north american guys- got really surprised when a guy that I had just met 2 days ago hugged me. That's not something we just do. Another thing that only kind of comes up in the video: The first thing we usually ask someone when we meet them is what they do for a living- now you don't have to brag but also don't be offended if we ask right away, I've had people react surprised when I asked them. Now I know not to be as invasive when talking to people from North America.

[–]Tenmagnet 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'm actually here now, but heading to berlin at 6. I taught in prague once... I would definitely come back if there was demand for another Love Systems program.
You guys planning to come to the Netherlands?
[–]maestroni 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Perhaps you know any guys in Prague that are good? I'm looking for new wingmen as I recently came back to the city.
