When it comes to conversations, I sometimes struggle to find an opener. Usually it comes down to the pictures I see in the girl's profile, and I'll make a general or sometimes witty observation based on what she's doing, where she is, or her personality. Maybe half of the time I'll get a response, and I got a lot better at it in the past couple of weeks than I was when I first started using the apps in late-June.

Of these conversations, maybe 2/3 continue into something. This is where I still struggle because everyone has competing ways to hold a conversation. Some guys say you always need to be escalating in some way. Others say just hold a normal conversation, ask open ended questions and get the number soon thereafter. Well, when I tried escalating several times, it didn't get me very far and was difficult to do with a "nerdy" looking profile. On the other hand, asking large, open ended questions sometimes didn't get me a response.

I've had 1 date so far, 4 total in my life. The girl, who was from out of town, actually set it up for us and we got coffee and walked for an hour after. She messaged me a few days later saying she was busy but wished me well in my career. I responded in kind and was later unmatched (which was fine to me).

Take a look at my latest conversation, which to be fair the latest message was less that 24 hours ago but I feel like may not receive a response. This person certainly doesn't appear to be looking for attention, but may have seen my message and lost interest.

All 9 matches I've had in the past week have gone silent. It's super hard for most guys to get nine matches (I guess you can thank Tinder Platjnum for this), but the fact that I can't get a date out of 9 matches is extremely frustrating. Now the app is suggesting girls 50-60 miles outside of the metro area I live in, which has over 1 million people, and they're showing me people in a region of 5 million, but is in another country. I am considering a switch to cold approach, but what I'm looking at here makes me wonder if I should even bother wasting my time.

I don't consider myself to be a simp, but maybe I'm just too "nice" and "boring" for girls in general. Which is why I've never had a girlfriend and all of my relationships with women have been platonic. Watching videos from AMS, Corey Wayne, Courtney Ryan, etc., are interesting, but do not change how I interact in these conversations. Like I said earlier, I try to avoid going down then sexual/creepy route (I was unmatched after I said a girl was my type).

Does anyone see something I can't see?
