Intelligence is an attractive trait for both sexes, but nobody likes a know-it-all. Ask yourself if the things you are saying are truly for the benefit of the conversation or are you just trying to impress people into believing you are some kind of wunderkind.

This goes into the whole DHV-ing thing that people typically associate with trying too hard.

If you look like an A list actor, you can spew bullshit and get away with it. IF you think about the most successful PUA's that rely primarily on game, they are all pretty much bright guys. Sarging is pretty complex and requires complex steps, executed quickly, and microcalibrated in seconds. And a good memory for all your story material.

It really depends on what kind of girl you're dealing with. It can turn some insecure girls off, but for some other girls it's a requirement. I have to agree with War_Same, being pretentious will hurt you.

I think intelligence might not play a large role in the initial attraction, especially for day game cold approaches and club game. But if you want to be "boyfriend material" and continue to build attraction, it will work to your benefit to be intelligent. Eventually, girls, like everyone else, will get bored of stupid lines if that is all you offer.

You have to sprinkle a bit of both in. I have tried the intelligent route where you just talk ideas, and I've tried the brain dead route where you focus on amping up attraction and riding an emotional rollercoaster through stories. I find the second works a lot for the seduction end, but it makes interactions repeats of one another and they're quite boring for me.

What I do is talk about some ideas, then tell a joke or relate stories to the ideas, maybe she'll chime in something related to the ideas. My major area of study is psychology, so I talk about pickup and social psych, though not with those labels, and they will usually agree or disagree. Then you can do a little role play, teach them how to give a massage (which means you start massaging them, and then get them to massage you back), and take it from there.

Just see it as stepping back and forth between two realms, though near the end of the interaction/date you should be more in the more connecting zone and less in the ideas one if you hope to take it anywhere physical.

From my observations it seems that hotter the girl is you are trying to attract, more you need to step up with the game. I'd say from HB9 and upward you need more then just lines to get her interest, you need to add value to yourself and that means letting her know she can learn something valuable from you but without sounding like smart-ass. Without intelligence you won't be able to make a witty comment or make her laugh and making woman laugh is fastest way to get you any woman you want.

I think it helps only in the sense that like attracts like. If you're after an intelligent girl, it helps to be similar, or even a little higher, in intelligence.

But most girls are of average intelligence, just as most guys are of average intelligence, so having high intelligence is usually a liability.

I said this before somewhere on this subreddit, but women like a clever bastard, not an egghead. Both are intelligent, but in different ways. Women like the former because it usually translates into action and getting "results," which is attractive.

Yes. My routine is basically talking about topics that fascinate both me and the girl. I'll treat her input as invaluable, and pour in my own, steering the conversation.

But, don't be arrogant. Some girls are submissive, but most aren't. And noone likes to be told they are wrong about something. Unless you can do it in a funny way. Which you can't. ;)

While having a razor sharp wit and a large breadth of knowledge can certainly help it can also hurt (paralysis by analysis). That being said, I know one fellow who is ugly as sin and so mind wrenchingly stupid that he doesn't realize how ugly or stupid he is. Dude gets laid all the time, by real stunners. In a hilarious twist, the man is outrageously confident BECAUSE he's a complete imbecile. And it works for him. It's really unfair...

Any kind of skill requires intelligence, especially social skills. Having knowledge of things isn't the same as being intelligent. So yes, social savvy requires intelligence

For me intelligence is extremely important, but don't be a complete smart ass either. I still like to have the overall edge in the conversation and be the more intelligent one.
