Bit about me: Female, 20, single, slim, average to mildly attractive face at best (Not too sure what that rates on the scale ...HB4-HB7?).

I'd like to have a crack at cold-approaching guys during the day.

Would an opener that runs along the lines of “Hey, My name’s Derpina. I think you’re cute and I’d like to get to know you more, could I have your number?” be efficient at getting hook ups with guys who are say - studying at the library, waiting in line or sitting down at a cafe or food outlet, working as a shop assistant, just going about their day etc?

For me it's sounds too blunt and obviously desperate, or is that besides the point?

Being that I'm no where near an HB9/HB10, how do I respond gracefully to a high rate of negative responses e.g. being ignored, disgust, amusement or a flat out "No."?

Would "Thanks for your time" save enough face?
