Am I the only person here who find this book rather poor?

It's just so full of contradictions it's not even funny.

  1. Manson says you have to "invest in your self" to stop being needy, then he mentions how he was broke and unemployed after college and still was banging every girl out there. (I know "investing" doesn't relate to money here, but you cannot say he invested a lot in himself if he doesn't even have place to live).

  2. He says "investing in yourself" is the key to being attractive, then he tells stories about guys with great education/fit/well traveled etc. who still can't get girls.

  3. Then he says you should practice non-needy behaviors, but if you go to this link: https://markmanson.net/attract-women You will read:

When it comes to being non-needy, if you are trying to be non-needy so you can be more attractive, then you’re paradoxically being needy.

  4. For over 100 pages he talks about things like True Confidence and Non-neediness, but then the only real advice on how to achieve them is: get a therapy, talk about your issues (actually a good advice), invest in yourself.

I simply don't see why this book is so glorified on this sub. Just the fact that it was written by 26yo guy without any psychological background says a lot about it.
