Dont know if it'll work for you but I try to build on whatever the person previously said: If they say something funny continue the joke If they say something intresting ask about it If they share something personal, share something about yourself

It's really the same as a conversation in person,I dont know you but mabye the problem is that your forcing conversation where there isnt any.

If a conversation dies out dont force it, wait... Then at a later date start a new conversation or wait for them to do the same.

From my experience, it’s always best to end a good conversation rather than carry out a boring one. These rules have always done good for me.

1 Don’t interview. Convo should be two sided. If she’s not asking about you as well she’s not interested.

2 Don’t force a conversation. If there’s nothing left to talk about leave it alone until a new conversation piece happens in your life and then go back and tell her about it. Leaving her without a reply will also show her that you don’t need her. Which is always a good thing.

It's a lot harder than in real life. Definitely reduces your chances of connecting and some people are just better at it than others.

So two bits of advice

Write longer prose and wait for responses patiently. I found this really helps to keep the conversation going and means you can sit down, type something and wait for a response. May not work for some but works for me, I was text 6 days ago by a girl online and we've been texting non stop since them, a lot of it in longer messages.
Accept 9/10 at least are going to fizzle out. That's okay. You just don't connect through text. Doesn't mean you wouldn't connect in real life. And hopefully that one you find that you do connect easily with, you will find that easy connection carry through to real life.

Most importantly relax and enjoy it. If you're not enjoying yourself, back out. Don't let it turn you jaded.

There are very few people I can hold conversation through text. I can be very talkative with that person in person but through text I just can't hold a conversation. I met my bf online, first guy I've every met from the internet and was the first person who I was able to talk to through text. We just clicked from day one. recently delved into this topic and implemented it into my own situation. So far it has been a success for me.

First of, I tried not to force too much energy and time in the conversation by only saying things that suit me, the person who I am, and not overdoing it by trying to sound like Don Juan or Casanova. I just kept it short, simple, strong and REAL. Saying what I truly mean and not being afraid of what the other person says or thinks about that, because I know that shit is coming from a place of self-awareness. There’s no sense in pretending 🎼

I created a state of mind in which I asked myself “Lets see if I am going to like her”. Most of the time, I was being assertive and polarizing towards her and made STATEMENTS. (If she already digs you, than this is going to create an even bigger attraction) in those situations you find out more about her: if she’s open-or close-minded; conservative or radical; secure or insecure.. All those things will come to the surface. Then you can create a better and realistic image of the appointed person. And if she’s already really into you, she’ll try to sell herself to you. (except for when you’re sitting lonely at a bar and she’s smoking super slims out of her Armani bag she got from Alibaba, trust me, get tf outta there)

Throw in a witty comment every once in a while to make her enjoy her time with you and to lower the tension. Timing is key in this regard. Teasing or sarcasm is optional, but you’ll be skating on thin ice.

I’ll be going in to detail & covering more of my experience on this, which was an eye opener for me, in this sub sooner or later if you gents would be interested in that :)

I would recommend you don’t pour your whole life into the phone cause then there is less to talk about in person. I don’t like trying to meet girls online. I chat with them in person and message them simply to set up a date. Make it multi-thread: keep multiple parallel conversations going (usually 2-3 depending on the "heaviness of it"). Whenever one is about to die, riderect it with a joke to something more interesting.

It works best with Whatsapp or Telegram where you can quote her last message without her loosing track of the topic.

Messages should be a mix of flirting, funny, get to know and conversational, but never too much of one (i.e. too conversational is boring, too flirty is needy).

Make it all about them people love to talk about themselves. Ask questions and then branch off with another question based on their answer to previously asked question. Respond too when asking a question with things like, " oh, that sounds very challenging", or " wow! You seem to be on a good role with luck lately!" , And things that let the other person know that you are paying attention to their words and trying to understand. That should make the other person feel important enough to continue answering questions.

You can ask things simple at first like, " What are you doing today?", " How's the weather over there?", " How do you spend your time during quarantine usually?", or whatever you can think of. Good luck!

Once you get past the initial "How are you? Where are you from?" and all of that, you could try what I call Random Question Time! You can be as creative(or boring lol)as you'd like with the questions.

As for me, I try not to ask the same questions. If I used the same questions for every new encounter, it would just feel sleazy to me, even though no one is gonna know lol. Here are some examples:

Really just talk about anything and common interests, vibe with the person. If they don't meet you halfway don't sweat it man. You don't gotta be messaging her all day every 5 mins either, go on about your life, do your thing and message when you can or feel like it. I think one key is to switch it up between being funny and being serious. Joke around but bring up more serious important topics too. Ask questions but not too many/too often. Like ask a question about her than use what she said to make a statement about how it relates to you or tell a funny story related to that topic. I guess the bottom line is that you want to come off as an interesting person by having a lot of different things to talk about and being humorous and playful at times too. Show that you have had a lot of cool experiences in life and genuinely like to meet and learn about other people, especially her.

I think you shouldn't try to have long conversations through messaging. You should be exchanging 3-4 messages with her and then ask for her number. Then you call her and talk for 10 minutes or so and ask her out.

Too many online conversations die out because guys run out of things to say and girls aren't used to keeping conversations alive and interesting. They react to a guy's conversation but don't create fun conversations themselves. That's why girls a lot of times will ask you about work because they don't know what to say and if you stay on their topic, they'll get bored and blame you for it.

So only exchange a few messages and ask for the number. It's better to be bold because most guys continue online chats way too long.

It’s fuckin hard , the best conversations just happen when both of you click, this isn’t going to happen all the time, in fact most of the time. If you really have to force it and try then you’re obviously not clicking. Sometimes you do have to get the ball rolling a bit and sure sometimes there are little tricks you can use to have better conversations but Id say all in all don’t force it too much. Even if you are going to try to go against what doesn’t click and try out different methods don’t do it with too much force.

coming from a girl, granted girls expectations here vary widely - you only need an opener that’s something a little more interesting than “hi how are you?”, get that back and forth out of the way, and ask to MEET. Or in today’s world, I guess that would be a zoom date, or better yet a socially distanced hike or walk around some pretty part of town, or a picnic if you really want to stand out.

personally, I don’t like endless chit chat texting, and it seems especially pointless if I’ve never met the person. if it’s someone you’ve seen a time or few times, make the next date soon after the last one, and then you can check in with a quick back and forth every 3 days or so using something she told you about, but no need to keep a regular dialogue going. you win a girl over in person, seal the next date early and then text just enough so she knows you haven’t lost interest. if you set this expectation up early, you also won’t have to maintain daily texting later on without her getting worried something is wrong since you’re texting less.

What i do is - besides mostly people recommend- reply to stories on insta or fb, just if that story is interesting to me because I wanna say it, no becase i wanna start a conversation, if she replays good, if she doesnt reply good, i dont care haha I do this for talking, no seducing.
