is not 100% yes or 100% no. The attitude is good, but the opportunities given to him are scripted, like the bikini girl on a supermarket with weed looking just to hook up.

He's not ideal but he is very good. Think about it like this. He is a good looking guy, tall, fit and he has money. Add to that (as far as I can remember) he not giving a damn about what people think. Is he volatile? Yes. But also very chill.

So when he talks to women, it usually works.

Also, his on and off relationship helps a bit. He is emotionally unavailable, and some people like that.

Honestly I would watch an episode of californication before going out, and found that it did in fact, get me at least into a good mindset to just start talking to women and closing with them.

You have to realize the character he's playing is one of a famous successful author and he's physically also very handsome.

If you're famous and handsome, getting female attention is a breeze. So yes, in that sense it's pretty realistic. But of course the show is pretty insane in many ways that's not realistic.

The role is written specifically for him - a sex addict in real life. So there's definitely something to it.

They give him outrageous opportunities that are unrealistic, but I do think this demeanour is definitely one that definitely works. I've told many clients to watch him and his way of dealing with women.

I like it because hes not doing the same tired "Alpha male" BS.

It's not the only way, it's not my way, but it's definitely one I can recognise as effective.

Of course it's a bit exaggerated for TV but I think it's not too far off from reality. While he doesn't play up the fame/money aspect it definitely doesn't hurt to have.

Since he's a successful writer, he's very well spoken and charismatic which of course helps with trying to pick up women.

And then of course the physical traits can't be forgotten. While he's not exactly a young Armani model, he's tall enough (probably about 6'1), White, has a full head of hair, and has a six pack. This is enough to attract the vast majority of women.

It's nearly 100% fictional in the sense that most of the situations in the show would never happen to one guy. One guy might experience 1 or 2 of those situations in their life. Some of the situations would never happen like 5 of your former lovers all in a room at the same time, all knowing that you've had sex with all of them.

The show was good at the start and 3 or so seasons in became practically unwatchable. It's been a long time so my season count might be a bit off on that.

The premise that there are horny women all over the place ready to have sex with a cool headed decent looking guy seems completely fake from my life experience. I do have a friend that kinda fits the bill and has had a lot of sex from what I've gathered as he used to DJ and smoke pot a lot in his younger years, it might be somewhat more lifestyle related than just how you carry yourself in everyday situations.

Why so many of you guys wouldn't just try something out, even for fun or out of curiosity? You want 100% answers to life before you even make the first step, current education system is destroying our natural masculine attitude to embrace and manage risk and exploring.

As it comes to Californication and the character of Hank Moody, there are plenty of traits and seduction motives that are 100% legit within real life circumstances, but obviously not everything will fit into anyone's natural style and our current social culture and norms.

Everyone who hasn't seen it should watch it. Especially if you are over 30. But, its not realistic with young hot women in their prime throwing themselves at him. Its part of what makes the show entertaining. But, they did get some things right as well.

It's a great show for motivation.

If we were capable of writing absolutely the perfect thing to say spontaneously in the moment, it’d definitely help our chances. Of course Kapinos had the time to craft the dialog, whereas IRL we’d have a split second to think up what to say.

I think it's realistic. He's handsome and has a really cool vibe. His dress sense is minimal. He is a writer and very passionate. Also successful.

His attitude gets him far and he has a way with words.

In PUA community we always say use colourful, express language. Instead of boring, over used adjectives. Hank Moody does that really well.

I think Hank is only used for sex but not a relationship. He's a bad boy.

put an average looking (at best) guy, who is famous and/or has money and he will still somewhat be succesful with women but it won't be true desire compared to the guy played by a handsome actor

Maybe in the 90's it might of worked to a degree, that actor you mentioned is not popular anymore like he was, we are living in a new era now.
