After a long-term relationship of about 10 years and, more importantly, the isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I've felt very isolated and out of touch with social interactions. I spent two years hardly going out, which has impacted my ability to connect with others.

I often find myself at a loss for words, and sometimes my responses seem disconnected from who I really am. This also reflects in my dating experiences, where the results are quite mixed: sometimes I do well, and other times not so much. Often, my success seems more related to my appearance than to my communication skills. Although I’m not in my best shape (a bit overweight), I’m not in bad shape either, and sometimes my appearance can help. However, my lack of charisma often makes interactions more challenging.

For instance, a few women have mentioned that I came across as “imperious” or “arrogant" or "cocky" but in a negative way. In the past, I was very bad at approaching people, but over time, by learning the basics, I managed to improve significantly. After about five years of practice, I got quite good, until I started my previous relationship.

I know that these skills can be learned because I’ve done it before. So, I’d like to know what strategies or tips you would suggest to help me regain my ability to interact more naturally and effectively?
