If a guy replies a girl immediately over text or answers her questions logically, he's just being a good person and down to earth. Can someone explain me why this doesn't work in dating?

Personally, I find it changes quite a bit when you get older.

I’m around 25 now. I work from home now, so I have lots of opportunities to respond. So I pretty much respond immediately to anyone I’m talking too.

The women in my life seem to be more receptive to that now then ever before.

However, I do believe there’s a way to be a quick replier but also not come off as needy.

Because it conveys the message that you have nothing else going in your life which is unattractive. If you reply immediately every single time a girl replies, you become more and more unattractive to her. You send her the message that she’s your #1 priority and you are thinking about her all day with your phone in your hand. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with replying immediately some times, but try to make sure you’re busy all day and not thinking about her, replying to her every message. Once or twice a day is fine.

Attraction isn't logical for the most part, it's based on feeling (many of which unconscious).

Men tend to think in a straight line, logically going from point A to point B as efficiently as possible. Women tend to be more about the process, feelings and experience, which can cause misunderstandings and sometimes frustration both ways.

Because women are attracted to men because of the feelings he induces in them. These are feelings of passion, excitement, curiosity, safety, protection, and adventure. Just giving rational answers does not excite her emotions.

Because irrespective of what women will SAY, being a “good person” especially in the first stages of meeting a girl is usually seen as unattractive. The reason for that is that it gets girls suspicious, and makes them think that the reason you’re being a “good person” is that you want something from them, aka you have an agenda, aka you’re creepy. The solution is to use some well-timed disqualifiers, make her uncertain about whether or not you like her, give her some shit tests and establish attraction. After you’ve done that you can be nice with her every now and then so long as you also mix it up with teases. Still, don’t give her what she wants so easily and right away, make her work for it. That way she will respect you more and appreciate it much more as well. With regards to texting, you don’t wanna text her right away generally speaking because it makes you look needy. The only exception is if you’re making logistics or sexting (and obviously she’s sexting back) in that case it’s retarded to wait an hour to reply because it simply kills the moment. As to why you don’t wanna reply logically, it depends. You can reply logically if she asks you, say, where you live. But if she asks you a question to get to know you then you wanna reply with something interesting, out of the ordinary and something that sparks more conversation.

there are several things going on here. First, there is some truth behind the saying, "we want the things we can't have." Especially once you're flirting, she is in anticipation of that next cute/sexy/funny text. Waiting builds the excitement. Excitement makes things better. Second, almost a complete opposite of the first, in most relationships the person with higher social status sets the communication exchange. Think about your boss at work, or your teachers during school, or even imagine the president of the united states and someone else. Who decides when to answer who? Who is too busy or too important to get to the other person's email/text/voice message right away? So this is essentially one more thing that is setting the perception of who has higher social status. Women want someone that's higher social status than them. We are all mammals and millions of years of evolution have engrained into our subconscious the idea of social status within our tribe. Act like you are higher social status and her subconscious just excepts you as such. You are welcome.

I feel like this goes the same way with relationships. "Why didn't you text me back (right away) we were just texting!" Because I have a life outside of my phone.

I find that it depends on where you met the girl and your relationship with her. If you are a friend they would rather you respond faster. If you are trying to date a girl it is better to not answer right away before id say 5pm. This gives the impression you are busy/working during the day and are available during the night. Ive also found women are more willing to have a better conversation later at night. Im a 20M for reference and Im in college.
