Hey brother I've done that too

I'm the last person that would go to a large event alone which is funny because I love spending time alone

So a couple things that have helped me, maybe will help you

At first I stopped trying to talk to women if I went out alone. There was no way I could deal with the anxiety of being out alone and the pressure of talking to women all at first. I just had to get used to going out by myself to enjoy myself. One of the best nights I went out alone I just spent the night at the bar talking shit with a couple dudes I met. No chicks but I had a great time and it made me want to do it again. Positive experience reinforcement

Once you develop a pool of experience, and competence you'll be able to slowly transition into talking to women also because you'll just be used to everything

Get to know the staff where you go. Even if you're "alone" but everyone there knows your name, it'll be a lot easier to go and get in the zone. Even if you just know one bartender who works 3 nights a week, go on those nights at first.

Think if you really even like what you're doing. I started by forcing myself to go to this dance club by myself. Well, it took me a couple times to realize I just hated being there. I was trying to force myself into a scene I didn't even like. I'd much rather hit up a late night Cafe, or maybe a book store, a hole in the wall dive bar, or the park to walk. Unless I'm trying to really expose myself, why would I do things I don't enjoy?

Also, I take headphones with me to get psyched up. If I'm nervous I'll put on some hype music or listen to something funny to get me laughing and smiling. And if you got headphones around your neck people just see you're doing your thing, enjoying yourself. It's almost condusive to being out alone because people in groups generally don't have headphones with them.

Idk if you’re into edm music but going to a rave solo was probably one of the best experiences I’ve had. I wasn’t on anything, just showed up super early before things got too packed. Had a pack of gum with me and offered it to others and it really helped me start conversations. When I told ppl I was solo they were mostly impressed and super nice and welcomed me to join their group. I think most important is to get your first approach out of the way and just build momentum from there. Nobody is gonna notice your solo, nor will they really care, it’s all in your head. Good luck!

Think about how many people were at this event and having fun and with their friends and socializing. Out of all those people, how many of them do you think even knew or actually gave a shit that you were alone?

I'd be willing to bet there was only one person and that person was you. You aren't that important and the sooner you realize everyone is too worried thinking about themselves to think about you the better it will be for your life.

I think you should feel so so so proud of yourself! Going out by yourself is really hard. Even if you're uncomfortable, I promise it gets easier and you'll actually even learn to enjoy it

Try and take the next step when you go out solo again by making eye contact with people (anyone at all, not just cute girls) and smiling. You'll feel more confident and put yourself in a more relaxed, fun, outgoing mindset.

Why would you be embarassed about it, you are going there to have fun and meet people, not to show off that you have some social connections. I feel some inner game is waiting for you to be played :)

You wont be able to meet anyone if you cannot be comfortable by yourself or else you will come across as needy and creepy. You made progress though just get used to going out solo
