People make up their minds about you within 5 minutes of interacting with you. Afterwards, it'll take a major mistake to change their opinions for the better or worse. So stop worrying! What holds many of us back from taking action, saying something is fear we'll do something wrong. So we do nothing.

Or when the other person acts contrary to our hopes, we over analyze every one of moves wondering where it went wrong. Guess what? This may be liberating or a blow to your ego but people are so consumed by their own problems, life, they don't spend that much time thinking about you. What you perceive to be a bad sign, snub, is a most of the time a UNINTENDED side effect of whatever shit is happening in their lives and how they're dealing with it.

After the second or third meeting, if you can scare someone off because of a offcolor joke, an embarrassing moment, whatever, then they never liked you that much in the first place and were just waiting for an excuse to politely pull the plug.

If early on, you're carefully planning your next moves to not screw up, it's already not worth it anymore. You want to people to like you when you act naturally because even if scripted robot you opens some more doors, you can't keep up the act forever.
