well last year my resolution was to get my shit with girls fixed. i had a hell of a time but i k-closed more girls than ever this year. i was kind of plodding along but i finally got 2 f-closes this month (wat), doubling my count. (no expert, as i've said before.)

so i'm satisfied with the progress i've made girl-wise, but i am still unemployed and live with the 'rents. so as 2010 was my "year of the girl" my 2011 will be my "year of the financial independence." obviously, this will help me with the chicks as well. but it's something i need to get handled, and surprisingly something that has fallen behind my skills with women (never thought that would happen)

that said still tryin' to get laid NYE. should be a fuckton of FR's on jan 2nd :\

General: I, Gerusz, will defeat my laziness.

Sub-resolutions:

Run a half-marathon. If done before 15th June, run a full-marathon.
Squat 200kg (currently squatting with 100), Bench-press ~~150kg~~(<-mistype...) 100kg (at 45 currently), Deadlift 150 kg (at 80), military press 100kg (at 35), do 3×10 unassisted pull-ups (currently 3×6 with 28kg assistance). If completed before 15th June, +100kg for squats, +50kg for the others, +3×5 for the pull-ups.
Cycle 1000km (the stationary bike in the gym doesn't count). If done before 15th June... duh, realistically it won't be done.
Complete the Balaton cross-swimming (Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe, the cross-swimming is 5.2km long)
Complete that fucking BS in CS/CE. Fuck, I was supposed to complete it this semester.
Stop procrastinating. If I get a task X days before the deadline, it will be done X/2 days before it, not the night before the deadline.

Pickup: I, Gerusz, will go out at least eight times a month and will go to a place I haven't been yet at least once a month.

Context here: my biggest failing is probably that I don't go out nearly enough and I mostly go with my friends to the usual hangout. It wouldn't be a problem in itself, but that hangout happens to be a pub. Eastern European pubs aren't really the same as Western pubs - the patrons are predominantly male and the only girls there are the ones who have been dragged there by their boyfriends.

I hate house / trance / whatever-the-shit-is-called-that-is-played-in-clubs music, so regular clubs are out (0th rule: if you don't enjoy yourself, girls won't enjoy themselves with you either). I'll probably try out rock clubs (club atmosphere + enjoyable music), expat bars and the student bars near other universities with healthier gender ratios.

Eight times a month might not seem too much, but I have 36 credits to do next semester, so that's the best I can do.

Pick Up-wise :

In 2009, I vowed to at least get better with women (simple stuff), and I did it with much more success than I could imagine. I never even kissed a girl then. Now, kissed 6 girls, slept with two (hey, it's a good start right?).

I'm the laziest sonofabitch there is, and I'm not sure I will get my diploma with the grades I get currently.

Cool. I think resolutions should have well defined goals though. Did you count how many HB8s and 9s did you open in 2010, Tofu? ;-)

I, Cachondo, vow to open 100 chicks during February (unless I'm in an exclusive relationship by then). Only girls that I plan to close will count. The only reason I don't start in January is because I'll be too busy. And since I'm in Tokyo hopefully TofuTofu and reseddit shall be my wingmen/witnesses at least once (I've already met reseddit).

I, Cachondo, vow to do weight training regularly again (at least once a week).

Had to think about this for a minute. Don't usually do the resolution thing, but since it was asked here, and since a girl friend asked me, I might as well write something down.

2010 was a pretty big year for me getting out of the collegiate/post-collegiate haze. In the past year I've: -made new circles of friends, while keeping old ones -gone to the type of parties I only wished I could go to from pictures -become enough of a fixture with your LA indie scene kids that I get recognized before I even introduce myself -had the type of dirty sex I only saw in pornos -played a show on stage for the first time since high school -held my own at work with bosses twice my age -and a lot more

General resolution: Get greedy

Not in a material sense. I'm not much of a material person, I don't mind living in a tiny place or not having a great TV or driving the same car. I can blow through money, sure, but most of it seems to go to going out and new clothes right now, which I could definitely scale back. But there's a lot of things I am pretty good at now that I could probably do better. For example, I'm in pretty good shape, am an above athlete, but I could certainly drop that last 10 pounds to get into beach shape. I know how to drop those pounds, I've played sports all my life, and I'm young enough to do it in a hurry, I've just never been motivated to actually finish it. So why not try to actually do so? I've got connections and I've got gear, why don't I actually finish that EP I've always wanted to do and play 10 shows instead of the handful I've done?

It's too easy to get sucked into an easy life of Reddit and video games instead of actually finishing things you really want to do. Admittedly, it's good in doses, cause everyone needs a break, but I don't actually feel any better if I check in on Reddit 5 times a day instead of once.

How: Introduce more bits of structure and routine to my life. Seems counter-intuitive to living freely, but I've learned from coaching a bit that it really helps. And if you don't consciously get down a routine, you'll fall into one anyway that may not necessarily be what's best for you. So, keeping a notebook with me to jot down ideas I get while out, and reviewing daily goals every morning seems like a good start.

Pick-up related: Be better at handling obvious come-ons

After that overarching goal for the first one, this is more specific. I think the last two or three FRs I wrote here were of me fumbling some really blatant come-ons, so it seems like a natural thing to fix. It always seems like I am really unprepared when it happens. Next year I'm going to be a bit more on point when it happens cause I'm damn near expecting it.

General: Lose the chubby belly, with help from the boxing club. I'm actually stoked about this =D PUA related: Since discovering this excellent subreddit around 2 months ago, I've already had massive improvements in just how I view myself. So to go on from this. So I'm going to say, just be more ballsy. Ask for numbers/escalate kino/keep learning. Eventual goal: be able to post a successful FR on here
