as someone who has suceeded with lines with "want to come over to my place and watch some porn on my flatscreen mirror?" and "did sauron forge your ass? because it looks fucking precious." i can honestly say that confidence and directness works well. i've found bad lines work because they're usually not interpreted as serious, and you generally have to be pretty damn confident to open with something that ridiculous. it either makes you come off hilarious and confident, or like a monstrous douche. no two girls are the same, so be cautious with that trick

Starting a conversation like this is not objectively better or worse than being less direct.

When you say something like this, you make it clear you have sexual intent, so what you're really doing is you're making her make the "am I potentially interested in him?" decision sooner. Compared to other methods that delay that decision, guys who do that tend to see an increase in quick rejections, but it also puts you in a really good spot if she reciprocates it.

I personally don't like starting conversations like that AT NIGHT, because when there's only a few legit stunning women in the bar, I want to have a chance to convey my personality and what makes me attractive before making them make that decision. During the day, this is EXACTLY what we advocate starting with.

Do you know that if you played your cards right you could have me? I use it on super hot young chicks because I'm fat and old. It's like playing the lottery for me with a free ticket. Oh also, if you're going to say this, make sure you follow up with something else that conveys you're still interested in more than just her looks. So like:

"You are gorgeous! Are you [fun/friendly]?" or "I just saw you from across the bar and I had to come find out more about you, because you are gorgeous!"

Like Ben_KA said, for day game that tends to be the preferred method, whereas for night game most people prefer to be more indirect.

For night game, there's other guys around (some of whom may already be hitting on her), she might have a bitch-shield up (to deflect you in exactly that situation), and you're not taking her by surprise or anything -- and the more guys who hit on her, the more likely it is that some have been using really lame/desperate/pervy lines, and your directness might get lumped into that group.

So yeah, for day game you probably want to be more direct, while for night game you might wanna be more indirect. Another reason for that is because in night game when you're at a big bar/club/party, you might win more brownie points for showing less interest. Whereas for day game, that's not as much of a factor.

This has worked for me.

First, you have to be suave. Don't awkwardly creep up. Secondly, confidence, don't throw out "umm, you uh...look pr"...

As OP said, being honest and straightforward is the way to go. No pickup lines, no "techniques", not "secrets", fuck off with that shit. If you need to play games to get laid, go back to middle school, spin the bottle was a great hit. Tell her she's cute, hot, whatever you want, and talk to the bitch instead of making it a game.

If she's looking for the game and doesn't apprecaite the "honesty", fuck off and move on. She ain't worth it.

Your approach is fantastic. In my opinion being direct is better than any other approach. This is basically like saying "I'm confident and I don't like beating around the bush."

Do you mind telling me an example of when it "bit you in the ass?"

I have a hard time imagining that someone would be upset if you told them you thought they were gorgeous.

There are no super confident openers.

There are guys who are super confident, that open. So just open. Say "hello." Say "very nice." Eye her up and down. Do whatever you want.
