I ran into this guy the other day - I’ve known him for about two and a half years. He’s been dabbling in real-life approaches all this time, but never seriously. Basically, he’s still a beginner pretending he’s in the game.
He starts complaining to me about this local TikToker here in Barcelona who’s gone semi-viral for doing street approaches. He says, “Man, it used to be easier two years ago. Now everyone’s doing it. It’s too popular. Too many guys hitting on girls. It’s ruined.”
Hearing this honestly pissed me off. Not because I care about one more TikToker, but because this is the oldest excuse in the book: blaming the outside world instead of looking in the mirror.
Here’s the reality - this guy’s not getting results because he’s lazy and inconsistent. He hides behind fear, half-asses his approaches, and never bothers to learn what actually works. So when he fails, he comforts himself by saying, “Oh well, it’s because the game is too crowded now.”
Funny thing is, guys like him always have an excuse ready. If no one’s doing it, they say it’s too weird, too socially unacceptable, so it’s hard. If everyone’s doing it, suddenly it’s too saturated. Pick your poison - there’s always something out there to blame so you don’t have to face what’s in here.
The truth is simple: if you’re good, it doesn’t matter how many other guys are out there. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve met a girl who said, “You know, three guys hit on me before you this week… but you’re the only one I gave my number to.” Why? Because I did it better. I made her feel something they couldn’t.
This is not magic. It’s skill. And skill kills excuses.
So stop obsessing over who else is talking to girls. Stop whining about TikTokers making it harder. The only question that matters is: Are you better than the next guy? Because if you are, you win. She goes with you.
Most guys don’t want to hear that. It’s easier to blame the scene, the city, the apps, or the times we live in. But the real reason you’re stuck is staring right back at you in the mirror.
So next time you feel the urge to point a finger outward, pause and ask: How good are my conversations, really? Do I spark real connection? Am I assertive, playful, confident - or am I just hoping luck will bail me out?
If you want results, grow some guts, sharpen your skill, and outshine every other dude on the street. That’s the mindset that wins - and the only one worth having.
Get so good they can’t ignore you.
My mindset is simple - if I go to a new city and no one is doing real life approaches, I will be the first one. If everyone is doing it, I will do it better than them.
