I am in the process of getting divorced after 26 years of marriage. There will be no alimony, no child support neither. We have no debt, house is paid off and worth about $250k. We have good savings and money put away for retirement.

With that being said, I am concerned with my living expenses once I am on my own. I am still living in the house as we are starting to negotiate assets. I make about $100k a year. But I know rent is very expensive these days and my guessing is I am going to have to get new furniture and very much anything once move out.

Will have have enough money to live? I am considering doing DoorDash after work and on weekend to supplement my income, although Ive been told most days is not even worth the effort.

I have never lived on my own I left my parents house to get married, so I do not have a good grasp on how much it takes to live on your own money wise.

What are your guys experience? I am in a small town in Michigan. I have been told to expect to pay about $1200 a month for rent of a condo or something similar. Honestly I am scared.
