Putting my main question first before I get all emotional. How can one get a divorce on a tight budget. Married 30yrs. No house, Less than 10k in 401k, less than 5k in savings. 3 kids 26, 21 & 16 all living at home. Really have nothing to fight over. Anything I'll gladly give up for peace of mind. New York here. Any information will be helpful.

The issue is really Can't afford a lawyer. Consultation fee was $325. I always worked two jobs but still barely made the bills, between raising 3 kids and her only occasionally working.

To be honest, I also did some stupid (expensive purchases for her) things just to try and please her. No I'm not an old man married to a young girl.. we both same age, 50 plus and married 30yrs. Came to realize she never really cared for me but the opportunity I presented back then. (Another story).
