So I was having dinner last night with this family member, and a topic I had read about on this subreddit came up. The topic was about the private Fine Arts colleges in the US that are holding female applicants to higher standards.

The points I brought up were that more women than men were now in Universities, that gender-equality laws had been used against men for a long time in identical situations, and that it was ironic for women to be up in arms about rules/laws they once supported. I also mentioned that I didn't agree with these rules as they applied to either gender.

Her counter point was that women had been downtrodden for many years prior, so it was okay for these laws to work against men. And that it was outrageous that these laws were being used against women in this situation.

Here is what I would like help on: I want to gather a list of clear, non-biased articles about the current status of gender equality in Western culture. (UK, US, Canada, etc...).
