This whole situation shows not just what kind of person she is, but what kind of person too many feminists supposedly fighting against sexual violence are: they'll fight against it, so long it fits their narrative of a man abusing a woman

It's honestly really sad. Because they're not only being dishonest, but this mentality that sexual violence is only serious when it's male-on-female is causing a lot of harm to actual victims. It's really unfortunate the ridicule Jimmy Bennett went through in coming forward about what happened. He anticipated not being taken seriously, and indeed that's exactly what's happened

Obviously she wasn't charged with any sort of sexual battery in California so they didn't feel there was a violation. It was seen as rather inappropriate. People can "claim" whatever they want...that doesn't make something true. Weinstein is free to sue her for defamation (something tells me he is busy at the moment). Anthony Bourdain helps her (I don't think he was the type to simply be some chicks "cuck") cover up a sensitive matter (see above). She was hardly "leading" the charge into the MeToo movement (nobody knew who the hell she was prior to the teen fuck stuff coming out and she isn't that gothic drag queen Rose McGowan). She wasn't married to Bourdain and for all you know there was no arrangement for exclusivity despite how smitten he might have been for her (did you note the age differences). Tragically Bourdain commits suicide (his choice last I heard) and he was noted to have other issues including depression. People "Play" all sorts of things all the time. You are playing a game at making portraits of people by cherry picking the most unflattering gossip you can about them to support and promote an ideology of hatred for all of #MeToo. It's only when we recognize our own ability for bias that we can hope to move beyond it. In other words, look in the mirror...you might see another mean spirited victim inducing person looking back at you....

This is ridiculous. The MeToo organization isn't great, but initially the MeToo concept societally was useful and helped a lot of abuse victims finally feel safe to come out and speak up, INCLUDING many men. Let's not forget the first accuser of Kevin Spacey. He specifically spoke up because of the MeToo movement, and I know there were a decent amount of celebrities embracing MeToo and pointing out men are included as well.

If you only focus on one bad thing then yeah you're right. She's awful, but there's a lot of good that came from MeToo as a concept and conversation publicly and I saw some people I know personally, including some men, who finally opened up in their personal lives about what's been done to them in the past.
