This annoys the crap out of me. It's like a knee-jerk reaction to eliminate our message. Well all I want to say to people who dismiss men's rights over accusations of misogyny:

  • We don't have the power to remove certain voices, be they bigoted or trolls, so anyone and everyone can claim to be an MRA. That doesn't actually make them one.

  • One of the stages of dealing with bitter pain involves lashing out emotionally for awhile, and our movement is about championing for men who are having their lives ruined. Think about where a comment is coming from next time you're offended. Misogyny is a default answer for detractors of MRAs, and it's usually wrong.

  • Holding certain opinions doesn't nullify an individual's human rights, no matter what those opinions may be. If you somehow end up debating a real live misogynist over human rights issues, try to separate the character from the argument, as real debaters do. If the arguments still fall apart, too bad for the bigot. We're not going to come to his aid, ala point 1, we are not misogynists.

I'm going to tell people this, and if they still dismiss us, well then they're a close-minded lost cause.
