I was just watching Schitt’s Creek (TV Show). In the first or second episode, one of the female characters approaches a random male at a party, proceeds to pull him in and make out with him for a photo to send to an ex (or something along those lines). This is gross for numerous reasons. 1. She did not ask permission to make out with this person. This action was not consensual at all, and the show depicts this as okay, normal, and something not to be surprised by. 2. The male just accepts it, portraying men as people who’ll take whatever they can get. I am disturbed by this and wonder just how many movies and TV shows depict sexual harassment against men and reinforce these harmful stereotypes and stigmas?
