Are you asking what is most important to me or what I think should be or is most important to people in general? Showing appreciation to those I love and helping others are probably the two most important things to me. Then maybe sex. I don't think there is a "right" answer to what should or shouldn't be most important to anyone.

Important in what context? Your question is too generalised to really mean anything.

To be very general I look out for myself above all else, that is the number one priority for everyone truly because we have an innate survival instinct.

But that's obvious and doesn't mean much. So I ask, what's the context of your question? Are you talking about what's important in a relationship? In friendships? In pub crawls? What?

Shams of Tabriz says that the world is a huge couldron and something big is cooking in it. We don't know what yet. Everything we do, feel or think is an ingredient in that mixture.

We need to ask ourselves what we are adding to the cauldron. Are we adding resentments, animosities, anger and violence? Or are we adding love and harmony?

Keeping the priorities I had as a kid more or less intact as I progress through the years.

I was a big dreamer as a kid. I had a pie-in-the-sky ideals: I hated almost all sorts of violence against anyone and various forms of discrimination. I would rather die alone than settle for a less-than companion. And despite it all, I remain a die-hard romantic.

If I let those things go I think I'd lose what little goodness I have.

Beyond that, I always want to think for myself. If it ends up alienating people, fine. I've always been a quiet subversive. Others can attempt to discipline me, I'll just smile and nod and find a way around them. I will not be broken and re-trained like some dog. None of us decided to be born onto this Earth. I don't see why I should hand my autonomy over to anyone or any economic, political, or military entity. No one has more of a claim to it than I do.

I think...after spending a long time alone trying to find the answers, and succeeding somewhat, that it's important to have honesty, happiness, and fun in one's life. To ensure one can keep going. I think growing up is prioritizing your time - including the time you set aside for fun. Ugh. But yeah, it is an important priority. I won't be here to implement the change I want to see in the world if I off myself tomorrow because I became a bitterly efficient asshole who forgot how to fun.

At the same time, one can't fake one's way to happiness. That's just making a personal hell for oneself. I find that happiness only arrives when I get to be brutally honest with someone. The people who can handle it are allowed in the inner circle. The hangers-on who just want a good time (but no meanie truth-telling! Or sticking up for what you believe in! Being honest is haaaaaard! ◕︵◕ ) are people I push to Pluto in my social orbit.

Companionship and common parenting.
Trust and emotional support e.g. with grief.
The direction and form a stable relationship gives to my life.
Sex is nice sometimes.
Morals? Well I hardly ever have amoral desires, so it is hard to tell, for me. It was never like for me "I would like to harass and abuse that person so much, but unfortunately I cannot, because morals." I am not saying I am good or something, I just probably don't have strong passions.

You see, I love history and I don't understand it for these reasons. Can anyone tell me where did people like Caesar or most kings really had these really strong passions to dominate, rule and conquer? I am not even saying it is necessarily wrong or horrifying, I am just saying I have no idea how this would be fun, I don't have any passions of this kind at all. I watch The Game Of Thrones and have no idea why these guys want to be kings that hard. Isn't being a top aristocrat a fun enough life?

Depends on you. For example, there is PUA material available for you to consume online. Whether or not you look at it, whether or not you believe it, and whether or not you apply it is all up to you.

Not everybody wants a sexy partner, would you believe? Because if you want one, you have to actually do some work to get one.

Some people are content being couch potatoes and fat asses. If you don't believe me, go to a mall or shopping center or downtown or beach. Look at the variety of people and try and guess their motivation.

Over all: A sense of security is probably my most important thing, which is annoying as all get out because ALL security is an illusion. Doesn't stop it from being my number one priority though.

In a relationship: my most important thing is having shared values. I feel like the rest tends to sort itself out if you are both on the same page about what matters.

To me, what is most important is inner peace. The other things contribute to that (fulfilling relationships, sense of morality, enjoyment of life, empathy), but that all just comes out to inner peace.

The self is important and the world is important. Everyone's first priority is themselves, ultimately, but that doesn't mean that we should disregard the importance of others. It doesn't take a lot to pursue happiness while also keeping empathy and kindness in the front of our minds. If everyone had consideration for other people, everyone's happiness would improve. The problem lies in what makes people happy - nobody can agree on what is best for the self and the world.

Companionship. Who wants to be old telling jokes to themselves?
Having fun and being more joyous than not... (For some this means intimacy (physical/erotic touching, doesn't necessarily mean PIV... cuddling naked works for me), for others it means laughing with friends... depends on the person. For me it means... all of the above.)
Security. Who wants to be old still working at 85?
Caring for and about others... because it feels good and creates community and goodwill/trust.
