A long but good video about MGTOW from Karen Straughan who is a well spoken MRA.

I'm curious how the people of this sub view MGTOW's. A little bit about me. I was a MGTOW before I even knew what it was. In high school I was very shy towards girls and didn't have much in common with them. It seemed like a lot of effort to pursue or initiate conversations with girls. It didn't help that I was bullied when I was young and therefore did lack confidence and self-esteem. But overall It wasn't difficult to talk to/relate and make guy friends, so I gravitated towards male friendship.

College was my peak in terms of a social life, I lived in a party house for a couple years and typically drank a couple of times a week. I lost some of my shyness towards women and instead implemented BP (before I knew what BP was) strategies when interacting with women. I was typically very nice and helpful towards women who were in my circle of friends or the women who ended up at a house party we were throwing. However, I still didn't care much about women, I cared more about chilling with my bro's and making memories with them. For me having sex with women at one of my parties wasn't even close to being a priority, but I had plenty of guy friends who did prioritize sex and GF's.

In my mid to late 20s my social life took a dive. Friends moving away for jobs, friends getting into serious relationships. I thought maybe it was time to start making an effort to find a partner. However, in my late 20's I found the manosphere on reddit (TRP, MGTOW, MRA) and can't unlearn what I have learned. This is how I found out that I have been MGTOW all my life. It was odd too, because I don't agree with most of the things MGTOW's on reddit say about women.

When I consider putting tinder on my phone or creating a profile on OKcupid I always think about what Karen Straughan talks about in her video. Men are extremely disadvantaged in marriage, so whats the point? Why take the risk? I have contemplated suicide enough in my life (from bullying), why open myself up to get divorce raped? I realize that NAWALT, but all women have the potential to ruin any man's life because of the culture that we live in as well as the laws and family courts that are biased towards women. I think about it this way...would you go to a casino knowing that the house wins 80% of the time and the 20% of the time the house doesn't win you only get your money back, (reference to child custody %'s) I think most logical people would say no.

So what does this community think about MGTOW? Are we just a bunch of kiss less virgin woman haters? Or is there actually some logic behind it? I seem to think there is quite a bit of logic behind it.
