Hey everyone, before anything let me start by saying that this is the first time I ever write something like this over the internet, to people I never met and this frightens me a bit. I know I don't deserve special treatment and that I am not special, I know a lot of guys have worst problems and I know there is a lot of good advice around here which will answer most of my questions and doubts, but I also know from the few months I've spent reading posts from this sub that this is a community of bros who want to help each other and wouldn't mind listening to problems like mine.

Usually I don't spill out my feelings to anyone, because someone told me one day that men shouldn't show feelings, but I think I'm hitting my limit. I can't talk with my friends because they are beta nor with my dad as he was a beta his whole life.

tl;dr - noticed red flags in ltr of 2.5 years, sad about the situation I shared my story here as a way to heal.

The story

I'm 25, I have a degree in law, I work as an attorney and study architecture during the night. My gf, let's call her K for the sake of the story, is 21, she works as a cashier in a bank and is also a student of architecture. I live with my dad and she lives with her family. I met her in our classes at the beginning of the first year of college and a month later we were in a LTR. At the start I thought I could do nothing wrong, K would show interest in my activities, bought me nice gifts and having her around made me happy. K never spoke about exes, she also told me during those first few months that she was starting to date someone else and immediately dropped that person when she met me, I don't know why this is important, but I could never shake this thought out of my head.

I believed in the disney dream - I would buy her flowers and make paintings and other gifts for her and I didn't mind that I would receive nothing in exchange, everytime we went out I had to pay the full bill and I never said no to her. This went over for quite a while.

With time I noticed K would get mad at anything I did which she didn't like, every argument had to end with me submitting, even when I knew I was right. But it was her way or the highway - I would either submit to her or she would go silent and I was so weak that I couldn't handle it and eventually submitted. I'm not the arguing type, whenever K got angry I just went silent or laughed to make the issue seem smaller, but inside I was feeling more and more frustrated.

Jump to March of this year and I was feeling so frustrated about her episodes and for not having anyone to talk about this that I started looking online for other couples with the same issues and then I found TRP.

I've been reading posts from TRP everyday since I found it, I've marked some pages from the sidebar and also some other popular posts on my phone. I've started to lift and I created a schedule and goals to improve my life, I've started to solve problems I had postponed because I would put most of her problems in first place. I've been trying to be stoic, to maintain frame and I've started to speak with other girls to create an abundance mentality. I stopped buying gifts and messaging first or more than her. I don't participate in K's arguments, I remain silent or laugh. All in all, I can't thank TRP enough and I'm so glad that I found this sub. But I still thought that I could save the relationship.

On April during easter K embarassed me in front of her family because I didn't buy her a stupid chocolate egg (she didn't bought me one either), we all had finished eating and K's sister started talking about how big the chocolate egg her beta bf gave to her was and asked K where her gift was. At this point K told in loud words to everyone at the table that I hadn't given a chocolate egg to her despite she clearly deserving it. I felt humiliated, but I didn't reply to her rant, I just laughed at the situation.

It seemed that the more I refused to be her submissive beta provider, the more frequent and worse her episodes would be. One night I forgot to turn the bedroom lights off, she was already in my bed and after I got to my side she told me to turn the lights off and I told K I was tired and asked she to do it. She got so mad at this that after a good 15 minutes of silence she left the bedroom and started to cry in another room. I believed it was a shit-test and I remained in bed until it was time to take her home.

This night it wasn't different - we got home laughing and talking about stuff, after we went to the bedroom K asked for a massage and didn't mind giving one to her so I did it. Then she told me to get up and turn the lights off and I didn't do it. K told me 'you never do anything for me'. I instantly recognized what she said because I saw posts about it in TRP, but I was also in shock, this was the first time she told me a 'you never do this thing...' and I knew it could only mean a bad signal. After I didn't respond to it K got so furious that she asked to take her home and left the bedroom. I ignored her and tried to get some sleep, she came back angry and I laughed and then she said ' You better stop acting like a child or I'm going to tell you something you won't like'. I ignored again and K left the room only to come back five minutes later still angry and demanding to take her home and at this point I got up and took her home, not because she asked, but because I was tired of her nagging and I didn't want her company.

K lives far, but we didn't spoke once during the whole way. When we got to her place K told me before leaving 'I can't deal with this tense situation longer', 'you have to figure out your life' and 'we'll talk about this later'.

This happened some hours ago and I'm feeling overwhelmed by pure sadness. I'm not angry at her, nor anxious, I just feel sad and empty for letting this relationship sink.

Look, I don't see K as a bad person, I know I'm responsible for a lot of these problems, but not everything. And outside of her episodes K is a good companion and friend, she still makes me laugh and we still have good times together and sex is good and happens often, but I don't know if I can handle it anymore, I'm considering leaving her almost daily. I just feel sad, I know I can't go back to the full beta state I was in, I need to be with someone who respects me, but at the same time I always thought I could put this relationship back on track, she isn't just a girl I fuck, she is something more, but I don't know if this is enough. When I look back I can't remember a single good thing she went out of her way to do for me this last year, I don't think it is worth staying with someone who doesn't appreciate you.

In some way just writing this is making me feel better. I didn't had anywhere else to go and like I said I still like K, I don't think she is a bad person in any way, I'm just thinking that I shouldn't be with her anymore.

Edit - I've changed the flair to blue pill example as I think this makes sense and because of the no personal story policy running here. Anyway I just wanted to share my situation, how acting as a blue pill during most of the relationship led me here. If the fate of my post is to be removed so be it.

Edit 2 - Wow I did not expect so many responses. I'm reading and rereading everything everyone sent and I don't know if I can thank everyone enough. Posting here was a good decision.
