A trick I used to get over my ego was that I actively looked for shit that needed doing. If you make yourself busy you'd either be outside doing yard work etc so instead of yelling she'd just wait and do it herself. Try dropping the weight and raising the reps for a while. Rotator cuff exercises are your friend. I have a SLAP tear which put me out of lifting for 2 months. surgery was suggested but didn't do it and 6 months later doing regular rotator cuff exercises and dropping the weight for a bit and now my shoulders are stronger than ever and no pain
