that's completely understandable, especially when both subs are great resources. FLUS is for leveling up outside of romance, so it's a bummer to see more dating related posts because it's one of the few subs we have not dedicated to that--and it's not like FDS doesn't exist for all dating/romance-related content.

and the thing is...we never do this to them??? i can't think of any woman i know playing "secret doctor" with a man, unless it truly comes from a place of concern (see: reaching out online to learn more about irregular symptoms that have stumped his physicians, warning signs to look out for with a suspected possible illness, or in the case of infidelity, to protect herself from further risk.) all of my exes have had allergies, and not once did i doubt them. if anything, i would be so strict abou…

the level of detachment men have when it comes to porn--and their porn-ified version of sex and intimacy--is absolutely mind-blowing. they're plugging themselves into a brain-rotting harmful "fantasy" to chase a brief release while ruining their relationships, desensitizing them and letting life pass them by. all they know is video games, getting high or getting drunk and jerking off.

i used to have a fwb that wouldn't maintain eye contact, would purposely swivel his head when i tried to connect and/or offer affection, and would alienate/dismiss me by pulling up porn on his phone. so i said, "okay" and removed affection completely--stopped looking at him, making sound, stopped doing anything that would remind him that i existed and it was then that he got freaked out by the lack of intimacy. suddenly the sex was "lame because i wasn't there with him." we're barely above sex d…

this reaffirms a lot of what i've been thinking in regards to sex-posi columnists, and i hope a shift comes. women and girls need solid, accessible advice from modern voices against the wave of detrimental garbage we've been getting slammed with. also, separate note: i wasn't aware margo st. james died ten days ago.

i made a promise when i was younger to never see another male doctor again and idc how male practitioners feel about it. seeing one in my adolescence not only ruined my fairly good and transparent relationship with doctors (all women) prior to him, but made me frightened to fully open up because how callous he was. i never want to feel that way again, especially by someone who was supposed to help me. how i wish i could go back in time and tell him that he shouldn't talk to me or anyone like tha…

...i mean, he probably does. the fact that he's started this ball hair collection at 19 and is now 27, he basically has had a eight year old musky pube ball 💀if this were a movie, he'd have gone out the same night with a flashlight, frantically searching for it.

holding hands, going out on actual planned dates (or group dates) with curfews, getting those drug store bears with a frilly heart, going to school dances together...this kind of relationship is the only teeny bopper relationships i'd endorse, with a huge emphasis on still focusing on your personal development, schoolwork, hobbies and friends before a boy and rejecting dating altogether if you truly don't want to. why is a 14 year old worrying about "netflix and chill"ing? we need to push back a…

never again will i have roommates if i can avoid it, and especially not male roommates. between my ex-roommate's aversion to throwing out the garbage like she'd never contributed to it and cleaning the stove after she'd cooked her food to a near-char state or getting obsessively involved with playing darts to the point of installing a dartboard coincidentally right next to my bedroom the last few months we shared together...i cannot go back to that.

there's nothing more freeing than absolute control over yourself. my first ex tried to control what i wore especially, which often caused arguments because i enjoy expressing myself through colors and concepts. being with someone who says they love you but then diminishes everything about you through control isn't love. a man will never again be able to tell me what to wear, how to look, or how i should be myself ✨💅✨

smh so many people in the comment section twisting themselves into pretzels over why hinge isn't to blame. i literally paused when a man i was interested in mentioned he had gotten arrested. he brought it up like it was nbd too. i can't have a username or a harmless meme as a photo but men with a history of assault are fine to these dating apps, the logic really amazes me there. daters should always be informed of who they're seeing, and anyone with violent criminal records or a history of viole…

some receive money, but i've seen it some receive items with little to no resell value (imo) and trips/outing. ofc this is mostly from what i've read from blogs so i could absolutely be wrong, but i feel like these daddies would rather gift presents instead of cash to keep a woman dependent on them and continue the relationship on their call.

i would never date a man i wasn't attracted to. personality is what would keep me but idgaf about personality or potential before i know them. i would want my man to be moisturized, physically fit and polished instead of looking like he just finished guzzling mountain dew by the bottle and wipes cheeto dust on his one good shirt. i put effort in for myself, why shouldn't my partner be held to the same standard and do the same?

thankfully this never happened but for our anniversary, i was going to book a suite for the weekend in an expensive hotel ($$$), plan an itinerary based around all my ex's favorite foods (seafood especially, both of which i've had bad experiences with) and then surprise him with a playlist and the crème de la crème of my lingerie. i would've spent so much for a man who once lost my birthday card, disappointing me deeply, and didn't think to buy me another one.

of course, men will actually take the initiative if they believe another man is in the picture (because they can't fathom losing to another man, not because they actually like you.) men don't even like to do the work to communicate and put in effort when you've got a slightly busy schedule and aren't at the ready to respond to their ever so stimulating "wyd?" 🙄

it's cathartic to let out our feelings here. glad you're feeling a bit lighter ❤ honestly, i read no failure on your part. i know it can feel that way, especially when you look around and everyone's in a relationship--but in my opinion, a failure would be to accept any man and forego your boundaries, goals and expectations because of societal pressure to be in relationship. a drama filled relationship built off of a foundation of catering to a disrespectful LV man who initially didn't want anyth…

the respectful thing a real friend would do is not only unfollow him, but to have never brought him following her up to you unless it was to as you said, let you know. a real friend would've never mutually followed your ex knowing it bothered you while fully knowing how he hurt you.

outdoor dinner dates and/or socially distanced picnics and limited events were honestly the best available option for dating at this time--realistically, the others are all indoor, especially now with the weather changing: inside a car for the drive-in or going to someone else's place, which both require varying levels of trust and intimacy not yet established with a stranger (even more so in a pandemic.) my advice to you is to forget dating altogether especially if you're waiting until a vaccin…

i'll never forget the time my ex let his friends plant it into his dummy head that i was using him. for what? i nearly screamed. he had nothing to his name and i'd been the one who was financially stable, even with a lesser paying job. i told his friends off, none of who ever helped him, and then broke up with him.

if a man ever proposed a picnic date to me and actually did most of the planning and labor, i'd probably flat-line. even if we get this, it's usually up to the woman to prepare the food, bring beverages and snacks (along w. cutlery, glasses and insulated carriers/coolers) and provide the blanket. all out of her pocket. the most a man might contribute is a dusty j from his shorts and a transit card with enough to get y'all there. at that point, you're taking him on the picnic 😫

it's definitely a reasonable thing to ask for. i've read specific requirements when looking for roommates. i'd say ask for only women, and then further discussing your concerns with those who do apply. everyone may not be thrilled by your concerns but the right applicant for you will understand and respect your perspective, or even share it.

unprotected sex is "scary" and a mood-killer because it actually means the people involved are acknowledging there's risk involved and consciously choosing not to protect themselves. raw sex is just like sex work, both rose-colored repackaging to turn it into something it's not.

i have faith in our society not as is, but in the collective power of the people who know life shouldn't be like this. there are women and allies who refuse to be silenced about what's going on and are laying the groundwork for reform, advocating for us and being elected. it's happening, no matter what we get called, and all we can do is try to create a better foundation for an uncertain future while pushing back with all we've got against the foundations in place. it's naive but i've got to bel…

if someone said to me, "you can only pick one comedian to watch for the rest of your life," my answer would be wanda sykes, hands down. i've known so many hilarious women who can go from sharp, witty one-liners to humor drier than a slice of toast to delivering exaggerated stories filled with voices off the top of their head. a majority of men's humor is usually crude and mean-spirited--it's the verbal equivalent of drawing dicks on a desk.

as you said, it's never what physical touch actually entails but an expectation of non-stop sex and oral--for him ofc--nearly every night. sometimes you honestly just do not want to be touched or physical in any capacity. decide to actually take into account your mood and well-being and say not right now, not tonight, not this week? men automatically resort to "we need to have a talk because you're not fulfilling mUh LoVe LaNgUaGe of sucking on my balls and then crawling into bed unsatisfied."

i moved forward by realizing that the foundation our "friendship" was based on was an entire lie. i had a good number of men i would've called friends when i was younger, and year by year, they all disappeared (especially after i got my first boyfriend who wasn't one of them). not only did the men i called friends have ulterior motives, but our friendships looking back became one-sided the older we grew--and i observed qualities i didn't like about them that they'd hidden when i wasn't around. i…

all these subcultures tend to overlap that at this point it's one big buzzword circle lol. they're like the walking poster board for the lovechildren of tumblr and comic con. i briefly joined a trivia team and became friends with a non-hierachial anarchist bdsm practicioner who had a fascination with harry potter, camping and south korea (not so much a fascination with honest communication, working on her shortcomings instead of pinning them on her partners and friends or letting people in).

i decided to briefly get back out there after my lv ex, and hit it off with someone unexpectedly around the new year. a month before quarantine, i ended up wishing him well (i know, i know) but that was that--washed my hands of him because his words were inconsistent with his actions, and it seemed he dropped his facade once he realized i wasn't going to sleep with him. i'm too old to deal with inconsistency, negging, and games--and i'm over hooking up and the like. i want straightforward honest…

i'm inclined to believe that it wouldn't even necessarily be her friends that's the problem, it's probably her. like you said, if all they talked about was social media and appearances, then she could've tried to branch out to women who are like-minded. but not like the other girls here probably enjoys secretly feeling superior to her "superfical, shallow" friends, especially if uses them as a source on a post about toxic femininity.

i'll take why do men do what they do for $500, alex. you're right, they could put their efforts into building a healthy relationship if they actually took the time to understand what a healthy relationship was and worked on themselves. but they'd rather do the opposite, f*ck everyone over with manipulation tactics and then cry about being single despite having a good heart and a good guy (🙄) lol, it's truly baffling.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/05/20 10:18 AM

it's deliberate manipulation. a man makes plans with you, talks to you up to the day before said date, goes absolutely silent the day of and then pops back up with no explanation, rinse and repeat. men like to test how you'll react to manip tactic, and much of their behavior you'll endure in the beginning.

i love lasagna. i love cooking lasagna. but it is not a simple dish or an inexpensive one as you said, even if you use base ingredients. what it makes up for in preparation, time and cost is taste, portions and storage, so if i bust out my grater and casserole dish, then i plan to have leftovers to eat for awhile. you know this, i know this and hopefully his now ex-girlfriend knew that. it wasn't bad enough that she had to argue with him about basic decency, but he couldn't even see to it that s…

i wholeheartedly believe there is a difference in removing the stigma surrounding stds/stis and sex, and what people are doing now, which is removing all responsibility and accountability that comes with sex. it can be an uncomfortable talk to have, but anyone who can't have it, shouldn't be having sex. std shaming? not disclosing just means you're an irresponsible, selfish shithead, because you're removing your partner's choice, and that leaves them in the dark about how their encounter with yo…

so before gina rodriguez was known for jane the virgin, she starred in a film called filly brown. there's a scene in there that still sticks with me because it was the first time i'd ever seen strangulation practiced intimately and portrayed in a negative light. i will not be choked, strangled, or "playfully" grabbed during intimacy where i am supposed to feel safe and comfortable. if a man tries it with me or tries to explain how harmless it is, that's the only flag necessary.

idk how many flairs we have tbh. so if we don't already have one that adequately covers the discussion of pick-me friends, i'd be here for it 👍 also the friend's logic is ultra-wrong on so many levels, and her friend deserves better than such advice. he'd be wasting her time, youth, energy and tears in a fwb, secretly hoping it'd someday turn into a promise of a relationship. instead of actually being fulfilled in a real relationship, that's what her friend wants for him? that's the best she thi…

once upon a time, there was a woman named femaledatingstrategy. we'll call her fds for short. fds's ex low v. said he wanted to fix what had went wrong between him and fds. fds looked at the watch on her wrist (she had to be back to the office the block over), sipped her piña colada smoothie and said, "i've heard this all before. i'm heading back, low v." surprisingly, low v. committed to his words with action; he went to target to buy a journal and began reflecting, introspecting, working hard …

that i agree with. there are times that her topic is interesting enough to hold my attention (e.g. the blake likely one is a great example of shallon at her best), but you're right. a lot of the topics are specific dating scandals that aren't exactly interesting for me to watch a half hour video on it. like, if she made one about ben affleck and ana de armas, it'd basically be TL:DW BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN HER BREAKOUT MOMENT WASTING TIME WITH CHEATING HASBEEN WITH BAD TATTOO, which doesn't take long…

the onus shouldn't be squarely on us to protect ourselves from men who can change at the drop of a hat--who for months, let alone years can pretend to be a HVM and then drop the charade. you could be so discerning until it's your middle name, and he could still turn around and disappoint you. i'm tired of women telling us that this is the nature of our pursuit (and that it's positive/liberating/empowering!): to expect to be discarded like a used tissue. it's our fault if we cry, if we get hurt--…

i could relate to the exploration and analytical side of dating as a woman, but SaTC for me was escapism and entertainment. i believe it was u/theogjammies whose behind these fairly recent posts. afaik most of the 90s posts have been sitcom-based, with sex and the city, family matters, boy meets world and felicity (and possibly friends although i think it was just brought up). i've sure as anything probably watched them, but off the top of my head i can't think of any 90s pick-me movies.

my ex was like this. we'd kiss and he would automatically try to jam his tongue in my mouth 🙄 he didn't need an atmosphere, candles or foreplay because to him, it was just sex to get him off. kissing is sensational when it's done with someone who enjoy it and wants you to enjoy it too. it's cliche but a great lover will really have you ready to swoon and fireworks going off from just a kiss.

i think being easy to please isn't inherently bad, it's about how it's used. a woman who is perceived as "low maintenance" =/= "easy to please", it just means that she may prefer spending time inside or being dressed comfortably (in her definition of comfort) and that's what makes her happy (or "pleased"). same with the opposite, a woman who prefers going out and being dressed to the nines (once again, her preference). i think we are all easy to please when we're listened to about what makes us …
