Men will literally not wash their own ass cheeks, have crusty and dry elbows and lips, dirty fingernails, and nasty houses, and still think they deserve a chance. 🤢

Isn’t that the truth? I know it might be confirmation bias but every gay man I’ve met has been put together, clean.

They take pride in how they look. Just compare their dating profiles to your hetero scrotes to see the difference.

Because looks are very important to men, and men aren’t gaslit en masse out of their standards like (het) women are.

Lol I wish straight men put half their energy into their looks/health like gay men did. We’d actually want to sleep with them more if that were the case.

I have this gay work colleague. He dresses so neat, smells really nice, you can See he takes care of his skin and I admit he is really attractive. But most of all he is just aesthetically pleasant to be around, The rest of the guys should follow his example but I guess its just gAaAyY😒

Imagine growing up in a society that tells you the sun shines out of your ass, so much so that you never question this and actually think you're a victim when people don't cater to your every whim. Why would you clean your house? Why would you uphold yourself to any standard when the world tells you you're amazing just for existing?

Yep, I know men who’s girlfriends/wives do all the cleaning and without the woman being present the man is living in a rats nest of an apartment. That’s why I’m not gonna settle for a man who doesn’t clean up after himself. I’m not gonna be his maid, that’s a full time job🤢

For some unknown reason, many parents raise their boys of never having to do anything except go to school.
Back in the olden days, at least boys were expected to work alongside their fathers and learn their profession.
I don't know why most people have children anymore. Many parents put a screen in their hands and leave them to themselves. They don't want to teach them anything or interact with them much.
[–]idhavetochargeFDS Newbie27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
A lot of people simply can't. When both parents work a full time job, mom does all the errands, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and dad comes home to beer and a game controller then the kids don't get the attention they need. I have seen women go back to work as little as a week after giving birth because they had no choice. Being poor has a tremendous impact, this is why FDS tells women to pick men that pay for dates and support her financially. If you have to have two incomes to survive the kids suffer. If a man won't buy you dinner he probably won't be happy to support you if you can't work for months due to pregnancy complications.

Such a valid argument.
But then they throw the good ol’ but men are visual, in your face. News flash, gentlemen. We’re ALL visual. I would love to know how the whole “valuing physical attraction makes a woman shallow”, thing got started.
We’re entitled to have our kinks, just as much as they are. 😉
[–]RiasXgremoryXFDS Disciple132 points133 points134 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly. Men don't date down, so why should we? Last time I checked, we all have eyes and preferences. Women have just been conditioned to accept a man at his lowest point in life by society and men know they have this working in their favor, this is why you see broke, unattractive men with bad hygiene who have high standards wanting to date 10/10 women.
[–]windowseat4lifeFDS Newbie31 points32 points33 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And when did men start becoming broke, unattractive, bad hygiene, put zero effort in their appearance? Back in the early - mid 90s guys had swagger & cared about their appearance. The bar is so low for them now that it's impressive if they showered & wore actual clean clothes for that day. How did it get to this point?? :(
[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don’t value appearance in a potential partner. I value money, but then I get slammed in the face with how dare you have this expectation? Oh so you have daddy issues? Meanwhile I’m pretty, well educated and in my mid 20s. They just want the bar to be the floor so that they can have access to your coochie, wham bham and thank you mam.
[–]just-peepin-at-uFDS Newbie8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think that, for a huge part of human history, we didn’t have the option, as women, to be visual.
We almost always had to rely on men for income. In many places, women couldn’t even inherit property. Adding to that, women often were property. If your dad was approached by a man or his family, and he agreed to give you to them in exchange for whatever, off you went.
So if a man was attracted to you, and he had the means, you might not have had the chance to say no.
Add to that, rape victims were often forced to marry their rapists* and it was a recipe for the (false) narrative that women aren’t visual. No, we are, we just have been forced into situations where what we wanted or were attracted to didn’t matter.
Now society is still gaslighting women with this crap.
*In the US, child marriages can still take place with parental consent. It is often done as a cover up to rape, or as a result of an adult grooming a younger girl. It is not always just two teens getting married, which is of course in and of itself problematic.
[–]PasdepromessesFDS Disciple199 points200 points201 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Most women do actually give less attractive guys a chance. Even the lazy, introverted gamers have wives and girlfriends (just take a look on relationship advice or breaking mom).
It’s only the extremely socially awkward and misogynistic guys that are left out.
[–]Inspection-CriticalFDS Apprentice97 points98 points99 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Most women do actually give less attractive guys a chance.
And then we regret it.
[–]McccyFDS Apprentice120 points121 points122 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Tbh it's girls who have that really low self esteem characters and think an ugly guy wont cheat : /
[–]PasdepromessesFDS Disciple108 points109 points110 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think a lot of girls are raised with the notion that we should put more emphasis on a man’s other qualities and not so much his looks, because, you know, we aren’t sexual or visual. /s
But it has brought us nothing. It’s a bs narrative.
But fact is, that plenty of unattractive LVM actually do get a chance. And these same LVM wouldn’t even consider dating a ‘fat chick’ or a single mom.
They try to change the narrative but they aren’t the victim here.
[–]Dontstopmenow2021FDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
lol, and sometimes they even act as the prize...like they're not sure if they want a relationship, they have to think about it (believing in their state of delusion that the next hottest woman will give them the time of the day, so hey better not miss the opportunity by settling with you).
[–]windowseat4lifeFDS Newbie30 points31 points32 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I made that mistake once. The guy I dated for a few years wasn't the greatest looking, although I thought he was cute. I figured he wouldn't cheat since he's not super hot. So fucking wrong lol. At the end I found out he had been cheating the entire time with randoms from Craigslist & with prostitutes.
Just because they're ugly doesn't mean they'll be faithful.

This was my experience. I’m maybe a 6,5 (of course I’m not an objective judge though), he was barely a 1. Fat, unkept, barely brushed his crooked and yellow teeth, super bad hygiene overall, looked so damn awful. I had been keeping myself locked away from people due to my eating disorder but then got better and started working at a new job, and all of a sudden, years of longing for a romantic partner hit me all at once and I felt so desperate for someone (before FDS). He looked at me one time and I realized I could have him if I wanted and sure, I wasn’t attracted to him but at least he was fun and nice, right? Giving an ugly guy a chance can’t hurt, right?
Wrong. He was awful. Picking on my looks, saying I looked too young without makeup, laughing anytime he saw me without it, saying the police will come and arrest him for dating a child although I’m closer to 30 than 20. (Side note - I do look young and so did my mom. She was always told “NO WAY you’re 40/50! I’ve come to love it - such lovely genes that stay young for long lol. What I used to hate is actually a blessing!) He did all of that repeatedly after I told him that I’ve never shown a guy my makeup free face and that I was insecure to show it because I knew I looked very young. So he attacked my insecurity on purpose and ruthlessly.
Then he would pick on my behavior and gaslight me into thinking I was starting fights all the time (no, I was rightfully bringing up his shitty behavior and confronting his poor attitude), he treated me like shit and assumed that would be enough for me. Nope. And after all of that, he wondered how I could get over him so fast. I literally have no positive memories of him, how couldn’t I get over him?

Never date an ugly man! It’s okay if he’s ugly to your friends and you’re wildly attracted to him but never, ever learn to like a guy. If you’re not into him, don’t push yourself to like him. Men will never do that for women.
[–]Chubby-LovieFDS Newbie43 points44 points45 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]SayNadFDS Newbie26 points27 points28 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
LVMs/NVMs had no problem treating me like I was invisible and like I was trash when I was fat. And people don't see the problem in that. Like they literally don't care if I was in real danger - why would they waste their time on making sure a fat girl made it safely home right?
Now that I have slimmed down and looking great, suddenly I have to "give the guy a chance, he really likes you!" when I have no feeling whatsoever towards them.
Excuse me, why the fuck should I do that????

They also don’t want to date women of certain heights but complain. Tons of tall women I’ve known were willing to date shorter men but those short men insulted them etc. So it’s clearly hard for tall women to date. Plenty of women give short men chances.
I’ll save my tears for important things that actually matter.
[–]Peak_TreeFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm tall for a woman where I'm from and live (I'm 5'8'') and can confirm. Most men like women to be shorter as much as women like men to be taller.
[–]futuristicallyangryFDS Newbie14 points15 points16 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
During my teens, I was on my very first date with a guy who was my age, and he said "you're toooooo short urgh, I feel so much taller than you". He claimed to be 5'10, was actually 5'8, and I was just a few inches shorter. And he, himself, was horribly underweight, to the point that even his family and friends were concerned if he was malnourished. I was conditioned at the time to give him a chance and support him in his weight journey when he bluntly mocked my height on the first date.
[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Short guys will take every chance they can to call you short if they beat you by an inch. Like no dude, I’m not your competition, THAT is your competition ~points at 6 foot broad shouldered man~
It’s so pathetic, I had a friend who was ‘5”4 MALE and every single day I was around him I was constantly reminded that I’m shorter.

I’m 5’5 and my ex was exactly the same height but insisted he was 5’8. He always wanted to stand back to back with me and compare in the mirror, then he’d complain my shoes were too high even though I only wear flats.

Lol my ex told me he was 5’9” when we first met. I laughed and got out the yardstick (we were at my house). He was 5’7”. He said he must have shrunk because in high school they measured him at 5’9”. At that point high school was like 5 years ago. I was like Um do you not get measured at the doctors office? He was really trying to cling to that high school measurement where he probably didn’t take off his gym shoes.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It totally turns me off of dating short guys because I don’t want to deal with their insecurity. How pathetic to claim that you have shrunk instead of just admitting that you lied.

It never bothered me in the past what a guy’s height was. I’m short so 5’7” is still several inches taller than me. However, I won’t date a short guy again due to the insecurity and Napoleon complex he had.

i would never date a man i wasn't attracted to. personality is what would keep me but idgaf about personality or potential before i know them. i would want my man to be moisturized, physically fit and polished instead of looking like he just finished guzzling mountain dew by the bottle and wipes cheeto dust on his one good shirt. i put effort in for myself, why shouldn't my partner be held to the same standard and do the same?

I took a chance on a man I wasn't attracted to once. He was decently attractive but just was not even remotely my type. Just another blatant lies perpetuated by the patriarchy. We have eyes, we feel desire and lust. Of fucking course we are visual.
