It's true, I'm glad I'm not short. The mate selection issue is well-known, but I was shocked that only 2 of 79 women said they would date a shorter man. I hadn't imagined it was that bad.

Funnily enough, feminists try to appropriate the mate-height disparity as a woman's issue, claiming it primarily harms tall women because, supposedly, men don't pursue them. If this is even true, it's not hard to see why. It's one of those so-called "women's issues" that is entirely driven by women's own behaviors and choices and could disappear tomorrow if women made different choices.

2 things I find wrong with this article:

1) Comparing discrimination against short men with that against overweight women. They're not even remotely similar.

2) In his wondering about why there's not advocacy for them, he doesn't seem to notice that there is no advocacy for any men's issues. So perhaps the reason is that they're male - should have at least entered his mind.

Otherwise a good article.

I don't really like articles like this.

Heightism is a part of sexual attractiveness that is genetic (i.e. innate) in Homo sapiens.

We should really stick to complaining about things we can change like the law and the cultural narrative.

Once we start trying to change human nature we will be no better, and no less ideological, than our misandric enemies.

Let's be an Aristotelian movement, not a Platonic one.

Furthermore, if we get a ministry, government supervisors, and a lobby that conducts itself in the same way as the Feminist lobby we will reduce interactions between the sexes to a Orwellian-Huxlian nightmare.

Everyone has something that is different, short, fat, redhead, asian, gay, bucktooth, etc. that does not mean everyone is 'discriminated' against. If you want to live in a completely equal society then join the Borg.

If you're going to complain about that then realize that the world is actually built without tall people in mind. I can't ride a bus or a plane without crippling pain. I can't afford a car large enough to ride in comfortably. I hit my head on a ton of stuff that shorter people don't, leading me to believe that the world was designed by the Mini-Elite specifically to slowly stamp out tall folk through gradual spinal compression and massive concussions.

Seriously though. 0bvious_Atheist's comment is spot on.

I'm 6'7" and grew out of the possibility of a number of careers. I've grown up in an area that thinks tall men are scary and where if I even raise my voice I risked the police being called on me. I get handcuffed if I get pulled over for going 2 miles over the speed limit.

Yeah, I'm so advantaged. Oh what's that? You need me to get something off the top shelf? Oh boy my favorite. Some shallow women are more attracted to me based on my height? Wow, just what I want in my life, a shallow woman who had a requirement that I be taller than her. And on that note, I've dated women who were 6'4" and they were all horrid and couldn't shut up about height. It might take me awhile to respond, I'll be looking for a long time to find clothes which actually fit me properly.
