This just happened to me on social media. I'm not posting screenshots because I don't want to name names, or anything like that. Thats not the point. I'm just confused. Friend of mine on a social media site (Again just trying to avoid ANY names here) wrote.

Ill use numbers to differentiate the other people.

  1. is a mutual friend
  2. Is a friend of mine who is a feminist.
  3. Dave is me. Obviously. You probably figured that out.

ONE. Huh... pride in women is feminism... pride in men is sexism and exclusionary...

TWO. youre kinda making a false equivalency. pride in men is the assumed default. is straight pride not homophobic & exclusionary?

Dave: Hate to be "that guy" but its no more exclusionary then gay pride. Pride in yourself is never a bad thing.

TWO. but straight people don't have to fight to be recognized and to be around and accepted and normal and good

Dave: no I get that and you're right, but I should also be able to be proud of who I am too. That's all :-)

TWO. No one's saying you aren't.

Dave: Ok Awesome :-) (Then some unrelated stuff bout weekend events)

Anyways. No response for a bit... so I write

anyways I'm sorry if I upset you wasn't my intention :-)

Get this back: you do that a lot, maybe you really need to re-evaluate the things you say

What the hell? Not wanting my feelings marginalized is now an offense? Like I'm sorry I don't want to take a back seat because I don't fit a minority role in society. Any guidance r/mensrights? I tried to come at this from a non-confrontational open stance. Also for the record, she posts weekly many statements that are of similar veins, marginalizing men's feelings in the pursuit of a feminist ideal, and I try as much as I can to say nothing, but if I do I again try to come from a non-confrontational stance for debate, and discussion, and I never say shes wrong just how I feel.

Edited for Accuracy,, I copy pasted my first line wrong
