i'd say it's also because the mainstream media rarely reports on men's troubles. they're more fixated on women losing their birth control and the "war on women."

Slightly related: I recently saw a bunch of women on my campus campaigning for free birth control.
As a libertarian, I was tempted to ask "why not free food too?"

Uh, no, I don't mean Plan B for a male.
It's cool that you were able to get it, but there have been several incidents reported wherein a pharmacist refuses to sell Plan B to a man (usually on the grounds that he's going to give it to his sexual partner without her consent. Sometimes also they'll give the reason that the man may have engaged in coitus with an underage girl who--being underage--cannot herself purchase the Plan B.)
It may be that these are very rare events and their occurrence has been blown out of proportion, however. I can't attest to the frequency of these situations, only that it has happened and that the reasoning was very much an assumption that the man had done or was going to do something immoral.

Well with the increasing unwanted and teen pregnancy problem I think birth control should always be readily available for both men and women.
[–]SoepWal 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This. :) You'll either end up paying for birth control or paying for the child care centers of irresponsible teenaged parents.
May as well take the cheap option.
Or we could just start requiring people to be responsible and stop subsidizing poor choices. Why should someone that can't use birth control effectively, or even make safe sexual decisions receive government money, and those that make the right decisions and act responsibly get nothing [and in many cases, pay for bad decisions in taxes!]
[–]discdigger 8 points9 points10 points 14 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

IIRC, Planned Parenthood gives out BC of all kinds. I think that people who believe strongly that BC should be readily available for all people would make much more of a difference by donating to Planned Parenthood, than by asking politicians for help.

Why should anyone be entitled to receive a benefit at someone else's expense?
Why should anyone become a slave -- i.e. be forced to work for no pay for the benefit of someone else -- merely because someone else wants -- not even "needs" -- something?

Why should you have to pay for roads, hospitals, educations and libraries?
I shouldn't have to, I should pay for them if I want them.
The question is: Why should you -- or anyone else -- be able to enslave anyone for any reason?
If you produce (i.e. work) while other people dispose your product (e.g. income tax), then you are a slave.
[–]Drainedsoul -4 points-3 points-2 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
all Canadians are slaves
Of course.
When you must devote time and energy to paying for something whether you want it or not you are enslaved. What's the difference between a farmhand today and an African-American in the antebellum South? One chooses, the other does not.
equally distributed
So everyone gets out the same amount?
This prevents people from breaking limbs and footing massive hospital bills while they can't work.
So does insurance.
Socialized health care has been demonstrably good for society, just look at Finland or Canada.
"[D]emonstrably"? Well then, demonstrate it for me.
what does libertarianism have to do with men's rights
Libertarianism is about rights in a general, broad sense, with men's rights a subset of that. Libertarians don't believe that force is an acceptable way to settle disputes or do anything other than defend oneself or one's property. Under such a regime the problems of the men's rights movement disappear.

More like giving away free oven mitts in a world full of hot, sexy ovens.
BC is not a pleasure. Nobody goes out and does the whoopie because they have BC. People have sex for their own ridiculous reasons, whether they have protection or not. If you give them free BC, most people will use it and consequences will be minimal. If you make people pay for it, some people will use it sometimes, and consequences will be rampant.
Universally free BC is not important for the one person that sees it as a "get out of pregnancy free" card; it is important because the whole mess is a public health issue that benefits everyone in our society, not just those who would abuse its availability. I assure you, those people will be promiscuous whether you protect society at large from the consequences or not.
[+]ArchZodiac -7 points-6 points-5 points 14 years ago* (39 children) | Copy Link
I'd like to remind you that the group was a bunch of college girls demanding free birth control. If this were about the health issue that some BC pills can take care of, then they would've/should've been complaining about insurance not providing it for those who medically need it or demanding universal healthcare in general, NOT just "free BC!"
If you don't think that most young girls want free BC for socialized desserts, I think that you're a little off the mark. I might actually be fine with socialized medicine since medicine is a necessity, in which case I would believe that BC could be "free" as long as a doctor was able to say that the receiver had a medically necessary reason to receive said BC.
Edit: and then two people downvote me to show me that I'm wrong or simply because they dont like my argument. Cool reddiquette anonymous downvoters.

It's very simple. If people can't obtain birth control, and they have kids they can't take care of, it will negatively impact all of us. This includes you.
The gubmint will be paying for those kids (raising your taxes), a school with a lot of kids will have to create infrastructure to accomodate pregnant women/childcare (raising your tuition), and so on, and so forth...
People are gonna fuck whether you give them protection or not. Do we want rampant STDs/Pregnancy or to suffer the woeful injustice of passing out free condoms/BC?
Your attitude is very self-centric, as if you're an island who won't be impacted when other people have problems.
[–]Mitschu 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Self-centric means, naturally, "centered on oneself" i.e to the exclusion of others.
I don't see this as the case here. He doesn't phrase it as an issue of "I shouldn't have to pay for their birth control" rather than "Individuals should not be expected to pay for other individuals to have free birth control."
A focus on the individual (including oneself) is, appropriately, individual-centric, and amongst other things, can be expressed as the rights of the individual before the rights of the group.
I see his views as an archipelago, and there are people on other islands demanding that a bridge network be built so that people don't have to swim so much; regardless, they'll still be traveling, but they want it to be easier on them.
And ArchZodiac is one of a few people on the archipelago concerned about their island becoming a stopover place where their crops (rights) will be trampled so that other people's ability to cross (privilege) is made easier.
[–]Carditis 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Unfortunately, you two anti-tax crusaders are arguing a few steps back from the actual issue. It's all well and good that you don't like taxes, but that is soooo beside the point that is actually being argued.
Taxes have been and will continue to be collected and spent, regardless of how religiously you thrust your stick in the mud every time a socially beneficial concept is brought up. The question here is not if it is just to collect taxes to pay for social programs, it is merely whether this program provides benefit to the society as a whole.
This is not an issue of giving away goodies to those who haven't earned it, this is an issue of taking pragmatic steps to reduce the burden of inevitable behaviors on society as a whole. Operating at a federal level provides economy of scale that allows us to rubber-up all that need it for pennies a person, instead of a dollar or two per sexual session (of which there will be many, regardless of if we protect ourselves from them or not).
Nobody will argue that we need to pay for BC so that hoodrats can spend the excess money on dope, but rather since we know the hoodrat will spend their money on dope anyways, how about let's not have to worry about the burden that their little rugrat crew places on society. It is not even for the sake of the hoodrat that we do so, but it is for the sake of our happy little archipelago-land as a whole, and to some extent for the children that end up in shitty situations due in no part to their own personal responsibility.
It would be great if you could just grow your crops on your little island and build a wall to keep all those darned irresponsible riff-raff from interfering with your magnificent hermitage, but no such farm operates that way. You still need to buy seeds, operate irrigation lines from necessarily public fresh-water sources, get fertilizer from someone else's livestock, etc. Your fantasy scenario falls apart even more quickly when you start assuming modern standards of living, like plumbing, electricity, iphones, email for your Ron Paul newsletters, the rest of your damned diet besides your own damned potatoes day in and day out, etc.
Like it or not, we are a collectivist society because we have to be. We are able to achieve the incredible things we do in the modern world explicitly because we operate on a very sophisticated implementation of division of labor, the most modern and egalitarian version of which includes social programs for those stuck in inexorable poverty and hardship. I realize it is a lot of fun to shout "Fuck 'em all! They made their bed!" But the last time society was really able to work that way, you would only be eating a potato if you happened across it while going about your endless goddamn foraging as part of a primitive troupe of chimps just starting to remember that a certain mouth-sound refers to a particular individual. Your views are paleolithic, and assume a world in which none can be trusted to deserve a pittance in a time of need. The rest of us have gotten over that, and are ready to work together to solve our problems in the most efficient manner, which is collectively.
I do apologize sincerely for the wall-of-text, and more-so for the hostile tone.
[–]Mitschu 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I started laughing at "no such farm operates that way" and "need to buy seeds, irrigate from public water sources", etc.
I'm going out on a limb and assuming you've never lived off the land before. You've never lived in the boonies and bogs, so far into the center of America that the power lines didn't reach your place, and a hot shower was when it was muggy out because of the rain. You've probably never bartered something you had for something you needed, being so used to money and taxes that other models confuse you.
"Public water sources?" Do you mean the tarp cistern my dad built in the backyard that we shared with the animals? Because there sure wasn't anyone else to public it up with, unless by "necessarily public" you mean they should be taxing the rain.
My own damn potatoes? Damn straight, I had carrots, corn, beans, and squash, too, along with rows of buck grass that we tended to keep the goats from eating our crops. We started with one female and one billy that we got from a neighbor in exchange for building him a cabin, and raised a small herd for dairy and (when the hunt was bad) meat.
"Modern standards?" You mean "modern luxuries", the kind I didn't grow up with and never missed because I was too focused on survival. (Although I'll concede that I do love me some internet now.)
Understand that an expectation for self-sufficiency is not a call of 'Fuck 'em all! They made their bed!", it's a matter of "Fuck 'em all. We told them not to sleep there, they dun anyway, and now they've got poison oak and want us to take care of 'em. Nope. That'll teach 'em to listen in the future."
I've solved a share of problems collectively, and I've solved a greater share of 'em individually. When the principal of our local elementary + high school had a heart attack, we were one of the families that helped rake up the money to hire a new one, because we realized that our well being took a backseat to the (astonishingly small in retrospect) community's well being.
Which loops all the way back around to my original stance. I haven't a problem with programs that are designed to help the majority of society. What I've got a problem with, is programs that help a minority of society while claiming to be helping the majority of society not have to deal with it. It's false equivocation, and the particular breed of "help-the-willing-victims" mentality you are referring to in the "modern" world is not the basis on which society was built.
My views aren't paleolithic. They're realistic and based on the system you are allegating to as the foundation holding up the world.
I do apologize insincerely for the wall-o'-text, and more-so for dropping into my heritage tone in order to patronize.
[–]ArchZodiac -3 points-2 points-1 points 14 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link
Ideally, people should be punished for negatively impacting society. I shouldn't have to bear the burden of idiots, and also I shouldn't have to take care of their kids because they can't.
It simply isn't my responsibility to take care of someone else's mess, no matter how much anyone else feels I ought to.
[–]SoepWal 5 points6 points7 points 14 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
It isn't about whether or not you 'ought' to have to, it's about whether or not you will have to.
And you will have to. Poverty is everyones problem. It's a nice, simplistic, tribal mindset to say 'yeah, fuck 'em, let 'em suffer!'... but meanwhile, back in reality, neglected poor kids grow up to become criminals because they don't succeed in society, and then you have to pay law enforcement and the cost of imprisoning them.
Short of literally executing everyone who is 'a burden to society', you are going to be paying for their mistakes one way or another. Might as well make it efficient and cheap rather than letting it fester and turn into a bigger problem.
In short: You can say it's unfair, and I agree, but you can't take your ball and go home. You're not an island. Society's problems are your problems too, because they will effect you no matter how bitter and antagonistic you are about it.
[–]ArchZodiac 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Upvoting you because I agree; if you are always responsible for taking care of someone else's problems, they'll never learn to stop creating them.
I'm all for universal ethics and I'll even concede that some forms of socialism / liberalism are useful, but only when the model is being used to help society, not when it's being used to cover for society's mistakes.
[–]SoepWal 3 points4 points5 points 14 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

People here seem to forget that we humans are not merely some wildly-breeding species, they are to be responsible for their own behavior. It's not a difficult equation, to not accidentally get pregnant.
It's not my duty or of anyone else, to see to it women don't accidentally get pregnant. What the hell. It's their own damn responsibility. Like hell if I'm going to pay for it. I'm tired of this nanny state horsecrap.
Women want to be individuals and be taken seriously right? How can they do that if they're state-dependent?
[–]SoepWal 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
You are going to be paying for it whether you like it or not.
If those kids grow up poor in a shitty home, they're going to grow up to be (at best) a welfare burden, and (at worst) a crime burden.
Your tax dollars will be paying for them, whether it's to pay their bills or to house them in prison. If your tax dollars pay for neither, your local economy will take the hit instead, since no one wants to deal with rampant crime.
Short of executing the children of irresponsible parents, there is no way out of paying for their mistake. Directly or indirectly, you are going to pay.
Really, most people wish they could succeed or fail based on their own merit, without having to take into account society around them... but the world doesn't work that way.
You can be as hateful as you like towards irresponsible people, but your attitude does nothing to solve or address the problem. Passing out a few birth control pills is way cheaper than having a bunch of babies that will be sponsored by your tax dollars.
tl;dr: You're trying to solve the problem with anger and you're only going to make it harder on yourself and everyone else. Also, women don't get pregnant by themselves. There's a man involved every time. Don't try to turn this into a 'lol women r dumb' argument.
[+]picopallasi -6 points-5 points-4 points 14 years ago* (11 children) | Copy Link
You don't even bother asking why kids even have shitty homes, why there's welfare burden and what causes criminal behavior. Your presumption is that there's lack of even more state power in people's lives. Nonsense!
Ever since "the war on poverty" started, there's only been an increase in poverty. Since the welfare state has increased in size, it has only made things worse. Single-parent homes have only increased with government programs. You are making the classic example of judging the intent of a program and not its outcome, which tend to be opposites.
And You're not taking into account human action or incentive at all. You just want to "solve it" with more government spending, creating more dependency without any thought as to whether it's actually worked. You are addressing symptoms, you are not addressing causes whatsoever. It's intellectually lazy to just assume more government will solve life's ills. Welfare is a classic example of this bullshit.
Really, most people wish they could succeed or fail based on their own merit
Yes, that is how a relatively free economy works. The more economic freedom, the less government you force into people's lives, the better off they are in the long run. The more you push social programs, the more you tax, the more you regulate, the more grinding poverty you'll see. If you don't believe me, visit a 3rd world country. You think Africa's aids problem is merely a lack of condoms? Jee, if only we gave them more condoms? This is no different. You think the way to solve a problem is to just steal more from the productive to give to the foolish? Not only is that immoral, it's inefficient.
If you are labeling me as hateful then I'm labeling you as economically illiterate and ignorant to the economic record.
I never said "women are dumb", that's precisely the argument you are implying. On the contrary, you speak as though men and women have no control over their bodies, like they're animals, and therefore it's our responsibility? Absurdity. It is their responsibility, and no I don't want any welfare to go to them because, if you bothered to even research handouts, it only increases poverty. And no I won't take the emotionally baited, "but they'll starve" rubbish.
It's not as if men and women don't know what creates a pregnancy, we don't live 2000 years ago when it was a complete mystery. They know the precautions, they know and you know full god damn well what they can do to stop it from happening.
edit: You offer me a false dichotomy, either I pay for the irresponsibility of others, or I pay for the irresponsibility of others. Fuck that. I will not be held hostage to the whims of wastrels. So fuck all the statists in here who claim to be rights activists but want to impose coercion on others like this guy. You're not a rights activist, you're just another special interest. If this is the mediocre, tedious, and otherwise anti-intellectual direction of this movement, it's already dead.

for some women BC is a necessity though. i needed it to regulate my periods as i was going 9-10 months at a time with out one. that's not really a good thing. there are also other medical issues that BC helps with(the one that jumps to mind is polycystic ovarian disorder). i know a lot of people want to think women only go on it so they have copious amounts of sex and for some that might be the case but it isn't always true.

Actually, it's perfectly fine to go without a period for 9 - 10 months - or any length of time, really. On birth control you aren't even getting a real period. It's just withdrawal bleeding, which is just there to make people feel better mentally. Lots of women with regular periods take birth control with no placebo week/no week off to STOP their periods indefinitely.

[–]QuickBASIC 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
You shouldn't be able to as McDonald's is classified as "prepared food", although every state has it's own laws. In TX, you can use your EBT at Subway, as long as the sandwich is not prepared hot and you take it "to go".
[–]Alexi_Strife 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
In CA you can use your EBT to buy fast food from participating restaurants. You have to request it being set up on your card, but I don't see why you wouldn't.
[–]QuickBASIC 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Wow... that's messed up. State funded obesity. If I was a California taxpayer, I'd not be happy about my tax dollars going to government funded programs to buy poor people chicken nuggets.
You could spend $25 bucks to "cheaply" feed your family at McDonalds for 1 meal... $25 would buy at least 3-4 meals if it were spent on groceries. Poor people aren't exactly known for their financial savvy and are more likely to go the fast food route. Makes me sad.
[–]Mitschu -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Love your name.
I dunno, though, when I was going through a rough patch I managed to feed myself for a month off of Arby's 10 for $10 deal.
$30 bought me enough food to last a month, and I'm hypermetabolic and need to eat more than other people. Now, naturally, I hate Arby's.
Of course, I could have probably done better with groceries, but considering the only things within 5 miles of my house were an Arby's and a gas station, I think I did alright.
[–]ArchZodiac -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Not that you should, but it's kind of hard to enforce welfare being used correctly. It's just more expensive to enforce proper use.
[–]bobandgeorge 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It's not... that expensive. Food stamps are all done electronically these days. The EBT cards (more likely the EBT system) are able to recognize certain things that don't count as food and certain things that are food, but also don't count. For example, you can't use an EBT card to buy beer or any other alcoholic beverage. Or, you can use the card to buy a sandwich at your grocers deli, but you can't get a hot sandwich because that's a "prepared meal" or something like that. All you do is include items like Hershey bars or what have you.
[–]ArchZodiac -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It doesn't matter if it's expensive. I'm simply saying that someone receiving welfare shouldn't spend it on anything other than necessities. When I said its more expensive to enforce that, I simply meant it would cost more to make people do the right thing than to just ignore it.
[–]Mitschu -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I simply meant it would cost more to make people do the right thing than to just ignore it.

Although, you CAN use your EBT to buy alcoholic mixers (cocktail mixes without alcohol, sour mix) energy drinks (as long as they're not a "supliment" i.e. some Monsters), candy, soda pop, and other nutritionally deficient food.
Honestly, I believe EBT should be as severely limited as WIC, with only approved items that you can buy.

Yeah and I corrected it to being more like chocolate than just food.

There are "libertarians" who support all sorts of random crap, so I imagine there are "libertarians" who support the current state of family courts (for example).

Yeah but didn't you kind of explain that yourself there with the quotes? They're not the "true" libertarians he was referring to.

And how could a feminist not also be an anarchist? since the most powerful force of paternalism is the state. Ironic that it tends to be feminists that vote for a bigger government.

does everybody vote based on what benefits them? probably. but the distinction between left/right becomes clear on how people go about on receiving the benefits.
[–]picopallasi -3 points-2 points-1 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It has become a far too common practice for people to vote themselves benefits, indeed this is one of the most cited reasons for having an indirect/liberal democracy rather than a direct one.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That's not really a "women's issue," but a philosophical difference in the role of government.
The argument is "freedom to do something" vs. "give me stuff"
It's the difference between having the right to free speech and demanding the government provide you with printing presses for free.
It's the difference between having the right to buy birth control, and demanding the government provide you with free birth control.
[–]picopallasi 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, no one has a right to another person's service (in this case, birth control). However, they do have the right to offer to buy or sell birth control.

This post by Tatara has so much truth, I immediately imagined a pickup truck full of bricks or dirt to analogize it to something physical in my mind. It's that loaded with truth.
In all seriousness, I feel like I'm the only one who says anything about unfair mentality or treatment toward men in society in my discussions. So many of my friends are not even willing to say anything lest they look like they're weak or that they're not really men because they are great big complainers.
To this I respond, "What about you? What about your individuality?"

From r/gender_bot:
Gender Bot is a small example of what can be quickly and easily achieved by one person. A large company could do everything it does , and use tagging information you have given to social networking sites to determine your actual identity, and potentially even more. It should make you mad. I bet you'll get really mad the first time an advertisement yells out your name.

[–]JudgeWhoAllowsStuff 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Why does it bother you?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I despise advertising, and advertisements are only getting increasingly invasive. I had never considered that ads could use bots to mine for public data about people and create eerie "personalized" ads.
[–]JudgeWhoAllowsStuff 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Oh I thought you were bothered by the bot - I'm trying to make sense of why all of its posts get downvoted. I think the bot itself is cool.
Eh, I still think the bot shouldn't post outside of its subreddit. I mean, it's completely random and adds nothing to the post. It's spam, pure and simple.
True enough. Cool spam though.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Because apparently the dictionary definition of that word is not accurate. Misandry only refers to institutionalized discrimination against men, and such a thing cannot possibly exist in a patriarchy, which feminists constantly assert that we live in (they say it all the time so it must be true).
But remember that feminism is all about gender equality, according to the dictionary.
[+]ehpuckit -9 points-8 points-7 points 14 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
That's because the word is misanthrope and it's developed its own meaning.
[–]Mitschu 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
Misanthropy is the hatred of humankind.
Misos (hatred) + Anthropos (human)
Anthro is used to represent humanity.
Andro is used to represent men.
Technically they mean the same thing, but generally that is the distinction made.
Just as the opposite of misanthropy (hatred of humankind) is philanthropy (love of humankind), not misogynopy (hatred of huwomankind, two terms I've just made up.)
If you want to play semantics, try typing masculism vs feminism, androcology vs gynecology, etc., for more examples of how male equivalent terms simply aren't in the dictionary.
As they say, "He who defines the terms wins the debate."
Oops, I meant "S/he, they / it, or any variant therein."
[–]ehpuckit -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The distinction is created retroactively. The difference between athrop- and andr- is not in gender specificity, it is in number. Athrop- means human kind and andr- means singular human. That's what it's always meant, but now its meaning is begin twisted into the way you outline above. But really even the distinction in number is a little silly and you can find plenty of words that don't fit that pattern. Semantically, because you asked me to play semantically, the only difference is in the shape of the word, not in the meaning. Anthrop- looses its final consonant in certain situations and then the [th] becomes a [d], which is one of the most common shifts in human language -- in fact [th] and [d] are often pronounced with the same sound and the distinction is only in spelling. They are in fact the same morpheme from a linguistic perspective.
And this is exactly what I meant: if someone creates a new term, and misandry is very recently created, they should at least know what the parts they are using mean and not go making shit up.
As they say: "He who defines the terms sounds like a child who is making up new words."
More to the point, anybody in the wild, i.e. anybody who is not already familiar with the ideas of mens' rights, would not be familiar with the term misandrist and would never use it. So to answer KT Tatara's question: because they would use misanthrope instead.
Is hate toward men a real thing? Certainly. Is misandry, as you have defined it, a real thing? Of course. But you can't expect people to learn new terms for things when they already have words for it. That's pedantic and makes people shy away from your message.
[–]Mitschu 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The issue is, they don't have a term for it. They have a term for the hatred of humanity, and a term for the hatred of women. They don't have a term for the hatred of men.
Semantically, yes, anthro and andro are derived from the same root, anthropos.
Realistically? Language evolves and develops meanings based on usage, not semantics, and it has been generally accepted that anthro- is used for "human" and andro- is used for "man."
Regardless of how the term was used thousands of years ago, it's modern usage, upon which the definition was coined, is legitimate.
Anthropology - the study of human life and development.
Anthropomorphic - the attribution of human characteristics.
Anthrozoology - the study of human and animal interactions.
Androgyny - having characteristics of both males and females.
Android - literally, "the form of a man" - see Gynoid.
Androcentrism - Focused on males, particularly behavior or attitudes.
Of course, if you can find a prefix that means "exclusively male" similar to gynos meaning "exclusively female", feel free to share it.
If you're going to argue that we're using words wrong, it helps to provide a proper word that can be used in its stead.

Misandry is hatred of men or boys.
Misanthropy is hatred or disdain of all of humanity.
