Have there been examples of girls who dominate a traditionally male sport?I'm hoping that they wouldn't be denied the right to play because of it. I get the problem, but it doesn't seem right considering how the opposite would end up...

I once caused the cancellation of a high school academic competition simply because I actually knew my shit well. They assumed I was cheating somehow, and told me so, and felt I had ruined the integrity of the competition.

I can totally believe stuff like this case happens all the time.

As long as the sports team is run and sanctioned by a government institution, then he should be allowed to play. If that makes girls not want to be on the team, or encourages boys to join the girls team, then too bad.

If it was a private team or league (LPGA), then they can set the rules however they want.

Reminds me of hockey rules surrounding both male and female teams in Canada... The Olympic committee wanted to ban both men's and women's teams from the Olympics because they're 'too good'. Women's teams also aren't allowed to check because that would give the Canadian team too much of an advantage considering they're the only ones who know how.

I see this as a tricky area, and one that isn't really a mens rights issue so much as a school athletics issue. We all know that there are always problems when young girls want to join a wrestling team, and always issues when a young boy wants to be a cheerleader. I see this as an extension of those problems.

I'd actually like to hear a feminist weigh in, because I feel like many young girls could relate to this.
