Most would say you're missing out on added sensitivity due to the reduced number of receptor nerves that are removed.

The foreskin is filled with tens of thousands of nerve endings, about as many as there are in a clitoris. That amounts to 1.3 metric fucktons of sensory bandwidth. Not sensitivity per se, but richness of sensation.

The foreskin provides a frictionless gliding mechanism that works better than a pint of astroglide, and never dries out. Take a pinch of eyelid/elbow/scrotum skin between thumb and finger, and rub. You notice how there's zero friction on your fingerpads? Same deal with your glans.

The foreskin protects the glans and keeps it moist, keeping it soft and sensitive rather than leathery.

A good percentage of of the receptors in the foreskin are stretch receptors, so they respond with really pleasurable 'stretchy' sensations with every movement, as well as providing detailed positional info. Just slowly rolling the foreskin up and down over the glans, with no pressure on the penis, can be moan-inducing.

The frenulum (like the thing under your top lip) connecting the foreskin to the underside of the glans, is extremely sensitive, and absolutely loves being tugged on - which happens each time the foreskin rolls back. The whole frenulum is usually removed in most circumcisions, and even if not, it's no longer connected to anything, so no more tugging.

I would far sooner lose a finger than my foreskin.

I'm circumcised as well, so I guess I can't know that much about it, but from what I've heard there's tons more feeling and condoms aren't a complete hindrance to feeling. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject will weigh in, just sharing what I know.

The real issue is that it painful irreversible and without your consent. Would you tattoo a baby just because everyone does it? And circumcision is more painful and altering.

I guess the best person to answer is someone who was circumcised as an adult and has sexual intercourse before and after.

However from my understanding, those who are circumcised lose many of the nerve endings in their penis so it is far less sensitive. Intercourse I have heard is also less pleasurable for both the man and the woman when the man is circumcised, in the man because he has lost nerve endings and in the woman because the foreskin during sex can add to the pleasure as the man pumps in and out.

Some may argue that circumcision means the man is less likely to have any problems with his penis and be less vulnerable to getting certain conditions. Which may be true but frankly none of these problems arise if the man is hygienic and regularly washes his penis.

Frankly seems a little crazy to cut off part of the penis unless their is a medical reason, it is obviously there for a reason.

I was a little baffled when I had heard it seems to have become fairly routine in the US.

You know they love to talk about the up side, but where are all the articles on the down sides; like botched circumcisions, removal of too much skin, the deaths, and constant or sporadic pain caused by nerve damage (which is not as uncommon as people think). I'd like to see some of those articles make the rounds instead of all the supposed benefits of circumcision.

Most of the information I have on circumcision relates to the risks and immediate consequences to having the procedure as an infant, not to the long lasting effects and loss to an adult male.

Less sexual pleasure for both partners. (women have their own preferences on the topic however most of it is bullshit rumours about being unsanitary or feeling better.)
protective sheath around an "internal organ". Keeps sand and sea shells from cutting up your glans is the first thing that comes to mind.
The option to have it removed later in life

Honestly I have nothing against people who choose to have a circumcision once they are old enough to decide for themselves. I would argue that, that point is after you teenage years as peer pressure can make you do things you'll regret later in life. But I do find it disgusting that someone can cut up their child penis and not get charged for it.

I would also like to add there aren't really any advantages to having it removed. As long as you're a relatively hygienic person. Your penis will stay clean and healthy. The only real disadvantage I've ever come across is my penis is a little thicker than average and I haven't found a condom that fits properly the point is having a foreskin makes the process of putting on a condom more involved and in my case causes discomfort.

I agree with everything here, but I'll also mention this one: the ability to have extended sessions of intercourse with a woman without causing abrasions in her vagina. One of the major functions of the foreskin is to reduce friction during PIV sex. Too much friction can lead to pain, urinary tract infections, etc., which is not too pleasant for the lady, and may cause her to be less enthusiastic about screwing for hours on end than she would be if you were bringing the proper equipment into the bedroom.

If you are straight, this is another thing you may be missing out on.

Typically with a circumcised penis the heard of the penis (the most sensitive part) rubs on the inside of your boxers/pants all day every day. Over time this can cause the head of your penis to loose sensitivity, resulting in it being harder to orgasm. Cutting off a piece of a baby's sexual organ days after birth is a pretty horrific thing to do though no matter the argument for it "being cleaner". and when fully erect they look essentially the same, although an uncircumcised penis has more loose skin.

Now, I'm a circumcised 20 year old, who up until this point had no idea that there was anything better or worse to being circumcised. Once the question was in my head it bothered me quite alot and I felt the need to ask. What exactly are the differences between being circumcised and remaining uncircumcised? What Am I missing out on?

Well first off, don't worry too much about it. Some people choose circumcision for themselves when they reach the right age to make that decision, so it's not all bad. For most MRAs, the issue is one of choice rather than "damage", and you won't hear many of us talking about the pros and cons of a circumcized penis unless someone else starts saying that the former justifies the procedure.

The truth is that if your penis is working just fine right now, then you are missing very little, or possibly nothing.

There are nerve endings in the circumsized area which can bring pleasure, but it doesn't seem to be a huge deal. As for men who were circumcised as adults, the majority of them state that things feel just about the same for them.

But just because it works out fine for the majority of men does NOT make it OK, not even a little bit. It's surgery without the patient's consent, it has absolutely zero benefit, and for the unlucky few, they lose their ability to have a normal sex life. Some even have their penis completely mutilated in a botched attempt.

Risky surgery for no benefit is NEVER acceptable.

Personally, I find most mras to be extraordinarily sensitive and hyperbolic when it comes to the "virtues" of being uncircumcised. While I don't agree with doing it to a newborn child, I don't think that the clinical basis for all of their facts are particularly accurate nor are they poignant.

I have never had an issue with sensitivity in that region, unless in the extreme, so to have more feeling would likely make me orgasm every ten seconds while I have any material rubbing against them. I'm fairly certain that this would not be the case, so at best, it may be a slight increase in that area.

That is not to say that my case is the typical, as I can't say such for sure without doing studies on men in a situation impossible using the manner of time perception available to human kind, yet as such, the opposite can't be determined either.

As far as psychological issues go, I'm not so narrow-minded as to believe that mine stem from a nearly aesthetic choice made by my parents in my infancy, rather than by how fucked up the rest of my genetic disposition and childhood environment were. It may be possible that the pain experienced in my infancy did add to these problems, but I feel it would be too disparaging to those who have the procedure to blame the totality of the issues on such a small fact.

tl;dr rejoice in your penis, and care not what others say about how it should look, it is an amazing part of you.
