This is not a Romeo-and-Juliet case. This guy is a piece of shit, and should not have unsupervised contact with ANY child. The fact that he was a SUCCESSFUL peophile (grooming hs victim, impregnating her repeatedly, persuading her parents to stop protecting her) in no way makes him less dangerous. The opposite is true.

First, as many point out, he isn't a pedophile. Wanting to have sex with people who can have babies isn't pedophilia. In past cultures, this would be completely normal.

As to if he is bad or not, the mere fact he had sex with an underage girl is not alone enough to judge. One needs to know more about the relationship to know if it was really consensual or abusive. Just because the law says it is wrong (well, only if they weren't married) does not make it automatically wrong.

As to the child... this is sticky largely because the child isn't old enough to decide (I think the child should get the ultimate say when they can). So the question is who has the child's best interest at heart. I heard mention elsewhere that the grandmother was abusive to the grandchild, and without knowing more about the father, he seems the better choice. Now, if someone has new information to provide, I'm open to rejudge this decision, but good luck getting non-sensational information on this case.

This story is purposefully misleading.

rlier this month, a judge gave custody to the child's father, Donald Coleman, a registered sex offender who impregnated Trista Crews Coleman in 1997 when he was 38 and she was 14 years old.

That kid is already 13. She kept sleeping with him and getting herself impregnated for at least another 10 years. She was 24 when she got herself pregnant again.

Coleman was arrested after the couple wed in 1997, and court records show he pleaded guilty to a sex crime involving a child under 16, the station reports. He was then ordered to register as a sex offender.

So he should not get custody because he slept with mom. This is so absurd!

This also shows how pre-feminist laws were better. In the past, underage sex charges were dropped and cancelled in the case of marriage. If she thought it fit to marry him and have children with him for 10 years on end, maybe she was not so abused. Of course, some anti-sex people come up with the ridiculous story that she was so brainwashed by him that it lasted for 10 years.

Manning said her daughter left Coleman in 2005, saying, "She couldn't afford a divorce (because) she was supporting three kids on their own."

The kid is 3. we are in 2011. You do the math. How did she get herself pregnant after leaving him?
