Well, ngram goofiness aside, the problem is that there's almost no legitimate platform in real life to discuss men's rights.

It's legitimized in fringe groups on the internet, but there's really very few settings in which men talking about these things in real life wouldn't be considered whatever adjective: bitter, whiny, crybaby, dateless virgins who have no idea how to be men, whatever shaming language you like.

It's not acceptable in most activist groups, it's not a university topic, and it's somewhat socially taboo. A lot of women find a lot of diehard men's rights activists extremely creepy. There's no legitimate way to talk about actual, real injustices without socially isolating yourself. And that sucks.

All the other groups mentioned, except maybe trans-groups, have more outlets in everyday society and far more acceptance. MRA activists have to stay in the closet because just about everyone views them as losers.

Eh I don't know about this one; I think we (positioning myself with the male gender) have found ourselves on top over the years (no pun intended). I think many men worry about "womens rights" in the sense that "they" are taking something that is innately ours. I don't agree, andI believe that many men in the corporate world who promote unregulated capitalism should agree with me as well. The best should be hired, with appropriate, EQUAL requirements being met.

Interestingly, the "gay rights" graph follows the "women's rights" graph with a 25 yr lag. I always thought that the rise of homosexuality is a consequence of women's lib (because women will only mate with a small percent of males, and those males have no incentive to commit, leaving most of the population sexually frustrated: women don't get the commitment they crave and most men don't get the sexual gratification they need - except for the few alpha males)

Edit: Just to clarify, I am not talking about gays who are so because of genetic predisposition. I am talking about gays who turned gay because they did not have access to females - and if you think it doesn't happen, you are deluded: why do you think so many men become gay in prison (and return to hetero behavior once out)?
