This kind of reminds me of a few months back, when the reddit feminists were scandalized because of the threatened gender-testing at the Olympics. Several asked, well, why don't we just do away with separate men's and women's events, and they were forced to admit, the women would get their asses kicked.

However, I don't necessarily think this is analogous to white collar employees either.

I had an experience related to this at work recently. A fellow work study student, who happens to be a female, has a lot more free time than I do to help out other people. So some employees were moving as a building is being torn down, and they needed help moving books, files, etc. Our female mutual boss (between the other work study student and I) decided that it would be ridiculous for the female work study to have to pick up books and boxes. I made the argument, in jest, that if women want equal pay they must do equal work. She thought this was the most disgusting, sexist idea ever and, in the end, made me take time out of a busy schedule to do it. /rant

There could be valid examples made of this, but this isn't one of them. The prize money at Wimbledon is just that, PRIZE money. It isn't Salary. You don't get more if the match goes into extra sets, either. And besides, what about the person who comes in 2nd? They played just as much as the first place winner, but get much less. The only way I can see this becoming a valid analogy would be, for example, if female golfers (or seniors!) wanted to compete against men, for the men's prize money, but still wanted to play from the pink tees. THAT would be unfair, but that isn't what is happening here.

Nice! I tend to see this a lot. Women complaining about how they arent treated equally or paid the same as males. But when you look at their record, they work less... and STILL complain.

Its like they have some victim-entitlement complex.

WTF. Actually, there are five sets in male grand slam tennis because it makes for great TV, and great TV moments. Male tennis players have more fans than females, in the same vein that male basketball, among other sports, have more fans than female basketball. More sets, more advertising, more money. Whoever wrote this is a good-for-nothing asshole.

I remember the other year when woman first got given equal prize money at Wimbledon, despite the men being better at tennis and generating more revenue for Wimbledon. At the time I thought of a great solution. Don't have a male competition and a female competition. Just make it gender blind, and have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prized for the entire competition. We'll see how many women ever take home any prize money then.
