id rather reddit just go in the opposite direction and allow almost anything. I dont really mind that these subs exist but its the hypocrisy that's amusing, they'd never allow a gender flipped equivalent subreddit to exist

overall its why 4chan is a lot better than reddit these days, at least the boards that cover speicifc interests are way better than on here.

The only way you can "strongarm" the admins is with external publicity, stuff that hits their bottom line.

I think it's very difficult. While I have had some success reporting users who are sexist, reporting mods never works.

Once I even reported a user, then reported a mod backing up that user in a direct reply (in an explicitly sexist way), but the mods message was not removed.

Even worse, mods often are very careful about never saying they are doing something sexist, only making comments that are sexist in context. This makes them all but unreportable.

With regards to subs, often mods are careful to be sexist in ways that cannot be reported. For example deleting posts of a certain gender, or not deleting posts by a certain gender.

I think it's almost impossible to close a sexist sub without a coordinated campaign bringing visibility to the admins outside of reddit.

However, I suspect that reddit admins are not aware that sexism is a problem. Some sexist subs are giant, yet they are allowed to exist. It seems to me the admins are giving implicit permission for them to remain despite being overtly sexist.

Hm. Never posted here before, but I'll give it ago. I align largely with your views, but I simply cannot see how you expect this to pan out.

Morally, this is this incorrect way to pursue this issue. I'm fairly certain you know this. The only thing that justifies this methodology is if it is likely to be more effective than regular campaigning. I don't see that happening.

What I do see happening is you handing whatever "opposition" exists ammunition again people who advocate for men as a whole. Ambiguous, hard to place without context actions such as these lend themselves to being misrepresented. I feel as though your methodology here is incredibly flawed, and I cannot bring myself to agree with your or support you.

In summary: good cause, bad way of accomplishing it. At least, in my opinion. I'd like you to elaborate on how you see this working out though, I'm interested.

Have them give reddit negative press in the mainstream media, alternatively provide evidence they are critical of the Chineese government

Collect content and report it to the admins. Report back that content and the admin's answers to a subreddit.

Unfortunately, there is a ridiculous bias in reddit's moderation at times (sometimes they are reasonable). That being said, pointing that out does not need reactionary subreddits. There is enough stuff you can report on a dedicated sub like r/everydaymisandry. Doing so is one of my projects, but I lack time and can't give any more information on it.

Fighting fire with fire is not going to work. Pointing out the flaws in the admin's moderationn will eventually provide you with a growing arsenal of evidence that might become hard to ignore though. For now, I need time.

Pretty sure reddit's rules protects everyone but men, and probably white people by the same standard. Due to perceived power being an element in neo-sexism and neo-racism we have little chance at the moment. If the reddit rules from above wont back us up there is no reason any sub will either.

I have had sub's mods double team me in mod chat for after making a tongue in cheek joke barely rivalling what other commenters where saying about Trump. My comment broke the rules about violent comments but was very clearly a joke unlike all the other actual violent statements being made. If the sub is dominated by these people - they don't care.

IMO we should just let them exist. It exposes the hateful elements within feminism and maybe just maybe, one day they'll clean their house just to save their PR.

No idea who or what you're referring to here, and insinuating violence/"radicalisation" as a primary recourse bco them being male isn't something I take too kindly to.

The trend I mostly see in our mrm-group is males being drilled to bow their head - internalised shame, guilt, feelings of worthlessness and behaviours approaching apologising for their existence, teachers, mothers and other women in their life pushing them down mentally. They cannot speak out, because then they are sexist, they are not allowed by the public eye to even acknowledge their own problems without being labelled (either a hateful extremist, a lesser male, a supremacist etc etc etc). The emotional outlets for males are primarly other males, because opening up to women is fraught with risk of rejection, punishment, ridicule etc.

Change happens on three fronts: males respecting the other males in their lives, females behaving better toward males and being more mindful of their biases/hypocrisies, and females not accepting the supremacist jargon among other females.

As far as reddit goes, you're not likely to have much luck, they are more or less brainwashed, most likely due to one of the co-founders (Alexis Ohanian) being a feminist, and he is outspoken with his ignorance.

You know, I've been permanatly banned from a bunch of 'feminist' subreddits because I criticised and called out their sexism and hypocrisy and the false information.

I've also dirctly messaged a user educating them.

Because this is online it's very hard. You are wondering if these people will really consider these facts and have their minds opened or they are ignoring you.
