A friend of mine said this to me. "Men's Rights? Isn't that a bit like white lives matter? Personally, having watched enough videos of black men being shot by cops, I wholeheartedly support Black Lives Matter. It does seem like our society treats African Americans, men especially, as criminals by default.

But I think there is a false equivalency here. Yes, there are more men at the apex of society, but there are also women there. Look at Jeff Bezos wife. So while there is a glass ceiling there is also a glass cellar. The men at the bottom are invisible. And I think the male of the species is a political class but is also a little more than a political class.

I tried to bring up suicide rates and that men are more likely to become victims of a violent crime. It fell on deaf ears.
