The problem is the way the law is worded is so insidious it’s insane. Because anyone can sue anyone who has had or provided an abortion and if they win they get all fees paid but if the doctor or patient win they don’t get any costs back. It is designed in such a way to make abortion providers too scared to provide abortions at all because it would just result in their clinics losing everything. The clinics will just close because even providing abortions before 6 weeks will be risky because they’d have to prove there was no heartbeat. It’s exactly why they’ve done it like that. To remove the option for women completely. That’s why your idea won’t work unfortunately. They really are evil bastards.

It sucks. I really want to move out of this state. Some women are talking about a sex strike, but that's a small population of feminists and I don't know if it's enough to actually kick off. There are some prolifers for various reasons they have, none to justify it of course.

Don't know if that'll work. There must be a lot fewer abortion providers who are scared to even try due to that snitching website (that's now being kicked off of it's domain and the form to submit is apparently down), and other reasons listed itt already

6 weeks pregnant is a single missed period, some pregnancies don't even register on a standard pee test at that point. The only 100% way to ensure a pregnancy doesn't happen is not to have sex and if Texas women have any sense that's the path they will take until this law is lifted.

It honestly depends on the medical professional.

There are ways around the ban, as the "abortion pill" is effectively a mifepristone (a steroid) and misoprostol (which causes uterine contractions when inserted vaginally). Both medications have other uses, with Mifepristone being used in Cushings Syndrome and Misoprostol being used to prevent stomach ulcers.

I think we will be seeing more initial diagnoses of ulcers and hypercortisolism in women with medication being given prior to the results of the labs.

The rest of the American South will pass identical legislation although most them already have very restrictive legislation. What makes the Texas law different is the incentive to snitch on people.

I wonder if Texas plans to ban potentially pregnant women from traveling out of state as well.

Abortion just allows men to be irresponsible and to continue to have sex with women without consequences and without commitment. It surprises me that anyone supports abortion “for all reasons, at all stages”
