I had a man tell me to move out of his way at an airport while disrespectfully using the hand gesture to signal moving and I screamed at him to go fuck himself because I just couldn't deal with that level of disrespect after such a long and stressful day.

We had to get on the same train to change terminals and he took one look at me and went into a separate car and for some reason I felt like I won.

I'm definitely not advocating for women to shout profanity at men, but you'll be surprised how things change when you don't allow disrespect.

This is so fun on footpaths when 2 douchebros are walking together taking up the whole path. One refuses to step behind the other because that's sUbMiSsiVe and one refuses to go onto the grass. Watching one almost trip his own feet and collapse his shoulders into himself at the last second is lols.

I generally walk with purpose when I'm out and about and I make my path. I shoulder checked a guy at the train station when he didn't move fast enough. Why the hell should I yield to some scrote? Did it to the football players in high school too when they took up the whole hall. I don't have time for that bullshit. Haven't for over 25 years.

I play this game - especially when on a run through town. I get icy stares. They are shocked SHOCKED that I expect them to use their half of the sidewalk, especially older guys. They are also SHOCKED when I don’t look away. It’s fun sometimes.

This is a game that I've played for as long as I can remember. It's become honestly the way that I walk now XD

I only remember facing negative consequences of this ONCE. Two douches were walking side by side in front of me, and rather than side stepping around them to get ahead, I nudged myself between them to get ahead.

They were TRIGGERED.

One of them starts following me and cat-calling, and saying things like 'Don't you want to be friends. Let's be friends' in that pseudo aggressively cheery manner that I'm sure you're all familiar with.

I'm actually not scared, because it's broad daylight in the middle of a busy street. I just remember feeling furious and telling myself not to react because they obviously wanted my attention. I was furious at them. I was furious at everyone on that goddamn street who DIDN'T HELP ME.

The only point I actually gave them a reaction was when the cat-caller had the gall to try to GRAB MY HAND. I pulled it away and just gave a loud wordless yell. Just a bellow of rage right in his stupid face. He STILL didn't give up. He didn't try to grab me again after that, but he kept following me with his 'cheery calls' to be friends.

I finally reached the Tube Station that I was headed into, and THEN they finally gave up and went away.

For anyone here who thinks that men do not notice when you're accomodatingly side-step around them. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But they DEFINITELY notice when you DON'T do it!!!

I did this a lot abroad. Dudes would be walking side by side on the sidewalk and I'd have to step off or turn myself sideways when one of them could just fall behind a sec. They were always surprised when I squared my shoulder and kept walking. No, YOU move. You have the space since there are two of you. It's a small thing but it's just one more annoying thing to deal with

I can relate so much to this article! The London commuting is ruthless and male entitlement is rife, not giving way and seeing their lost, confused, puzzled, howdareyoubitch look is amusing! Especially when you top it all up with a smile 😁!
