My wife used to try the same crap. I would just laugh at her and tell her she knows we're the couch is. I'm not sleeping somewhere she's because you're angry, you can if you want though. Funny thing is she never did and eventually stopped trying. In fairness though we haven't had a bad argument in probably 10 years.

Well the one mistake this guy made is being in a relationship with her in the first place. When it comes to serious relationships with women, there is one big fat glaring red flag a lot of people seem to miss: How does she react to you if you can't 'perform'?

Now let me elaborate the meaning of the word perform here, since it doesn't exclusively relate to sexual activity. 'Performing' here means to do whatever makes her attracted to you, from sex to carrying a great conversation to impressing her in any other way.

Now, on a bad day, you might reach the point where performance is not on the menu. How does she react to you just wanting to rest?

Does she:

Show compassion and affection to help you back on track or
Start an argument for no good reason/get annoyed with you?

If it's #2, dump her. Right then and there. She is useless as a partner then. If it's #1 remember it and do likewise for her whenever she is hitting a low point.

The guy in the post seems to be with #2. While he handles it well and stands up for himself, he shouldn't be married to someone that useless anyway.

Good for him. I stand up to shit tests too. I've broken up with more than one girlfriend because they decided to double down over it. You don't get to use being upset and likely crying to coerce me and force your demands. Stand your ground for these and, as another commenter has said, either she handles it maturely and you work through it as adults, or (as has been the case for me more than once, as I said) you end it there and not let it fester and become something worse.

Been married for 11 years now. I guess I am just lucky? Never had such a huge fight where this is even thought of. Plus we have a king bed so I don’t care how mad one of us is, go to your side of the bed and go to sleep. I have never understood to sleeping apart thing. I told her she’d have to sleep on the couch, not mine someone else’s.
