Men can get fat or stop having sex too. They're not great reasons to commit to someone else for life. There are plenty of good reasons to, such as for love, enduring companionship, a stable environment to raise kids and having various legal benefits for your relationship.

Because my wife makes 150K/year and she’s fun to be around. I also make 150-230K/year.

Because 1) if you are going to have kids, you’re going to be legally and financially tied to the other person married or not for at least 18 yrs. 2) You’re going to get fat too, and 3) your old fat ass is going to have more sex married than single.

A two parent household (along with a supportive network of friends and family) is the best for raising kids. I wouldn't recommend getting in bed with the state though

I will never get married without extensive legal documentation protecting all of my retirement accounts and investments. She would need to sign a prenuptial agreement AND a postnuptial agreement and we would need to keep our financial and retirement assets separate. It's really sad but marriage is such an enormous risk for men that it no longer reflects the economic and social reality. The only reason to get married is if you want kids. And even then I dont see why a marriage should be so important, but human societies seem to demand it.

We have kids and a traditional (but not Christian) household. Our kids are able to have the benefits of having a full time caregiver, that can’t happen unless you live with family.

He has the benefit of only having to work, everything else is done for him. If he were single, he’d have to work and care for his household.

I have the benefits of not having to work and only care for the children and the household.

We are 14 years in and still have sex and neither are fat.

Even if she doesn't stop working the odds are overwhelming you'll eventually make more than her. And how about your net worth vs her net worth? Does she have the exact same net worth as you?
